Close photo of a sand drawing on the ground, a line design traced in fine sand with small heaps of yellow turmeric and red kumkum placed at intervals along its curves. A brass cup with a spoon sits at the upper left. A person's bare feet rest at the top edge and a hand wearing a silver bangle and gold ring reaches in from the lower left to work on the design. A woven mat and red border appear at the top. No a person candidate is visible, only hands and feet.2018-04-28April 28 20182018-04-28April 28 20182018-04-28April 28 20182018-04-28Close overhead photo of a sand-drawn ritual diagram on a beach, traced with lines and marked with kumkum and turmeric powder at its points. Three green limes sit at its centre. Two people sit at the edges: one in an orange-red garment with hands pressed together and rudraksha-style beads on the wrist, and one with hands folded on the right, wearing a gold ring. A white cloth and a woven mat are visible at the corners. No face of a person is clearly visible, so no appearance-based candidate is identified.2018-04-28A photograph of a ritual arrangement on sandy ground. Two ripe yellow bananas and four green limes sit on a green leaf at the lower left, surrounded by kumkum and turmeric powder in orange and red. Loose white and pink flower petals lie scattered, and a heap of red and white flowers rests near the top centre. Sand has been smoothed and drawn with patterns. At the top left, a bare foot and the edge of a rust-red garment are visible, and at the top right a white cloth and a woven mat appear. At the lower left, a foot in a green shoe and white trousers is partly visible. The scene suggests a puja offering made on sand, with fruit, flowers and kumkum laid out as offerings.2018-04-28Overhead photo of a terracotta pot placed on sand beside two red bricks decorated with white painted geometric patterns and small red-and-yellow dots. A white painted pattern is also visible on the sand at right. The pot has three horizontal white stripes and a red dot. No people are visible in the scene, and no a person candidate appears.2008-01-01June 08 20172017-06-08April 06 20132013-04-06 +1 copiesJuly 25 20152015-07-25January 14 20182018-01-14A close-up photograph of a homa fire ritual. A person seated in white ritual clothing with a gold-bordered cloth and a gold pendant holds an open book of text while reaching toward a metal stand with a tube. Before them are brick-like blocks with white markings and flames, a bowl of ghee or yellow liquid with a ladle, a bowl of grains, and two glass vessels of water with yellow kalasha-style coconuts and mango leaves set on rice. Incense sticks stand upright. No identifiable face is visible; the person is shown from the neck down.2011-12-28
