Close photo of a sand drawing on the ground, a line design traced in fine sand with small heaps of yellow turmeric and red kumkum placed at intervals along its curves. A brass cup with a spoon sits at the upper left. A person's bare feet rest at the top edge and a hand wearing a silver bangle and gold ring reaches in from the lower left to work on the design. A woven mat and red border appear at the top. No a person candidate is visible, only hands and feet.

Three green limes sit at its centre. Two people sit at the edges: one in an orange-red garment with hands pressed together and rudraksha-style beads on the wrist, and one with hands folded on the right, wearing a gold ring. A white cloth and a woven mat are visible at the corners. No face of a person is clearly visible, so no appearance-based candidate is identified.2018-04-28Close-up photo of a floor covered with a star-shaped pattern of coloured powders, a six-pointed design in bright green, mustard yellow and reddish-brown arranged around a central point on a dusty, streaked concrete floor. Only the toes of a pair of dark shoes are visible at the top left corner, and a small cream-coloured container sits at the top right edge. No people are fully visible in the scene. The powder design resembles a kolam or rangoli made for a ritual setting.2012-05-02October 16 20162016-10-16November 09 20162016-11-09 +1 copiesClose photograph of a silver-rimmed brass plate filled with fine golden powder. Only a seated person's lower body is visible: bare feet and legs wrapped in deep maroon cloth with gold-zari borders, and one hand gripping the rod from above. On the left, a small wooden tray holds a brass oil lamp and a small blue packet. The stone floor is worn and rust-stained. The scene suggests a ritual preparation or sand-tray writing practice, but the precise rite is not clearly shown.2016-11-09July 25 20152015-07-25Close overhead photo of a rangoli being made on a brown floor. A white chalk outline of a star-like lotus design with wavy petals is filled with coloured powders: yellow, brick red and green at the centre. Two hands, one at upper left and one at upper right, reach toward the design. Two white paper cups holding blue and brown powder sit on the floor, with a small yellow powder packet at the top. No other physical people are visible.2012-05-02August 31 20172017-08-31
