Close photo of a sand drawing on the ground, a line design traced in fine sand with small heaps of yellow turmeric and red kumkum placed at intervals along its curves. A brass cup with a spoon sits at the upper left. A person's bare feet rest at the top edge and a hand wearing a silver bangle and gold ring reaches in from the lower left to work on the design. A woven mat and red border appear at the top. No a person candidate is visible, only hands and feet.

Close view of a sand-drawn ritual diagram on the ground. Bare feet and the edge of a red-orange cloth appear at the top, belonging to a seated person outside the frame. Pale sand is marked with dabs of yellow turmeric and red kumkum powder arranged in a pattern. Beside them sits a small brass or steel cup with a spoon, and at lower left are two bananas, a few green limes and a green leaf as offerings. A striped mat with purple and red edges lies at the upper right, and a white cloth edge appears at lower left. No other people are visible.

Close overhead photo of a sand-drawn ritual diagram on a beach, traced with lines and marked with kumkum and turmeric powder at its points. Three green limes sit at its centre. Two people sit at the edges: one in an orange-red garment with hands pressed together and rudraksha-style beads on the wrist, and one with hands folded on the right, wearing a gold ring. A white cloth and a woven mat are visible at the corners. No face of a person is clearly visible, so no appearance-based candidate is identified.

A photograph of a bhoomi puja on open grass land. A shaved-headed priest in white dhoti and white shirt with an orange shawl and a white tilak on his forehead kneels on the ground and arranges a brass puja plate with small silver vessels, a kalasha-style pot and incense sticks. Silver and brass offering cups stand on the grass. Around him, two or three men in saffron/orange robes stand at the edge of the frame. The ground is green grass with patches of bare reddish soil.

Outdoor photo of several men and a girl gathered around a circular stone-edged fire pit on bare earth, with white rangoli designs and red dot motifs around its rim and a woven mat laid beside it. A man in a white shirt and light trousers bends forward with his hand near the ash in the pit, while another in a white shirt and blue jeans leans over. A man in white dhoti and shirt with a rudraksha-style mala stands with hands folded, and a man in a white shirt and jeans has his hand raised at his head. Behind them, a girl in white with a shawl stands near a red-and-white pillar, and a man in white dhoti stands at the left edge beside a red-roofed building. The scene suggests a fire ritual with offerings, though no clear homa is visible.

Outdoors on sand, a bearded man with long dark hair sits cross-legged and shapes a conical mound of yellow turmeric powder decorated with a garland of pink and white flowers and green leaves. He wears rudraksha malas on his neck and both arms, a maroon dhoti, and white markings on his forehead and body. Behind him, men in red and orange cloths and gold necklaces stand near a silver ritual box, a small brass pot and a bell. A man in white dhoti sits at the right edge, and an offering plate lies in the foreground.

Outdoor photo of a burial-style rite at a freshly dug earthen pit. A bearded man with long dark hair, wearing an orange jacket and rust-orange dhoti, pours bright yellow powder from a bowl into the pit. Around him, shirtless men in orange dhotis wear rudraksha malas, one holding a tall wooden staff with red and green tassels that bears a canopy. A woman in a red sari stands among them. A man in white dhoti with gold border and a man holding a brass tray with flowers stand nearby. Rose-petal offerings lie on a cloth at the pit's edge, under bright sky and trees.
