July 23 20212021-07-23April 24 20132013-04-24Night photograph of an aarti at a large banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots. In the foreground, a bare-chested man with long swept-back dark hair, a red rudraksha mala and gold bangles holds a silver lamp with a bright flame that sends smoke upward. Behind him, a second man in white clothing stands near the flame. The dark background and warm firelight make the tree roots stand out.2013-04-24A figure in a brown and gold-banded garment and a maroon turban stands at left, holding a lit flame in cupped hands toward a large banyan-like tree trunk with exposed aerial roots. A garland of red and yellow marigold flowers hangs across the trunk, and a small oil lamp burns at the lower right beside a white flower basket. The scene is dim and nocturnal.2014-12-05December 02 20172017-12-02A woman seen from behind stands before a large, weathered banyan tree trunk at night, her hands pressed together in prayer. She wears a rust-brown sari with a gold zari border and a red and white flower garland with beaded orange ornaments across her shoulders and upper arms. Her long dark hair is pinned up with a clip. A small oil lamp glows on the ground at the lower right, and the surrounding area is dim.2013-04-24November 14 20182018-11-14April 24 20132013-04-24January 01 20142014-01-01January 01 20202020-01-01A photograph taken at night of a bare-chested man in an orange-brown dhoti with gold-coloured borders, wearing a long red and yellow flower garland and an armlet. He stands close to the massive grey trunk of a banyan tree with hanging aerial roots, leaning his head and forehead against the bark in a devotional posture. Dark foliage fills the background, and a long wooden staff rests on the ground at lower left.2013-04-24April 24 20132013-04-24
