The person wears an orange cloth wrapped over the shoulder and has white ash markings on the back. A tall red cylindrical headpiece rises from the head. Two bright flames are visible against the bark, and a garland of yellow, red and white flowers hangs at the lower left. The scene reads as a Karthigai Deepam lamp ritual at a sacred tree. No readable faces are visible.2020-11-29A photograph taken at night of a figure in an orange saffron garment standing to the left, wearing a long white and red flower garland and a gold necklace, with long dark hair and a sindoor mark on the forehead. The figure holds a small brass handbell in the right hand while looking toward a large banyan tree trunk. The trunk and its hanging aerial roots are marked with red and yellow kumkum or turmeric paste, and a flower garland hangs at the lower right edge. Flowers and leaves are in the lower left foreground, and dark trees fill the background.2007-01-01A man in saffron-orange robes stands at night beside a large banyan tree, holding up a silver oil lamp with a lit flame in his right hand. He has long dark hair swept back and wears a red undershirt beneath the orange cloth. To the right, a second man in white dhoti and white top with an orange shawl and a rudraksha mala holds a brass plate of offerings. Another partially visible figure stands at the far right edge. The ground is bare earth with a low stone rim at the bottom edge. The appearance is consistent with the a person candidate, though it is not certain.2007-02-25A night photograph in a dark grove beside a large banyan tree with aerial roots. A person in an orange garment with a gold-bordered edge, wearing a white and red flower garland, holds a small silver oil lamp with a visible flame and lights it near the trunk. Scattered flower petals lie on the sandy ground, and a red-and-yellow marking is visible on the tree trunk. The person's presentation shows only one partial cue, a garland, which is insufficient for an appearance-based identification.2007-01-01February 25th 20072007-02-25
