A figure seen from behind at night stands before a large banyan tree with dense hanging aerial roots, holding a lit flame toward the trunk. The person wears an orange cloth wrapped over the shoulder and has white ash markings on the back. A tall red cylindrical headpiece rises from the head. Two bright flames are visible against the bark, and a garland of yellow, red and white flowers hangs at the lower left. The scene reads as a Karthigai Deepam lamp ritual at a sacred tree. No readable faces are visible.
