GLIMPSES OF MEENAKSHI SUNDARESHWARA THIRUKALYANAM || 24 APRIL 2021

WELCOME TO THE MEENAKSHI TIRUKALYANAM CELEBRATIONS IN ADIKAILASA NITHYANANDA PEETHAM, SAN JOSE SARVAJNAPEETHA, LOS ANGELES SARVAJNAPEETHA BY THE GRACE AND BLESSINGS OF THE SPH NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM.

TODAY IS THE 10TH DAY OF THE MEENAKSHI BRAHMOTSAVAM, CALLED THE CHITHIRAI BRAHMOTSAVAM. DURING THE UTTARA PHALGUNI NAKSHATRAM DEVI MEENAKSHI WEDS SOMASUNDARESHWARA SWAMI, PARAMASHIVA HIMSELF. WE ARE INDEED, BLESSED AND FORTUNATE, TO HAVE PARASHAKTI MEENAKSHI HERSELF, IN THE FORM OF LIVING INCARNATION - THE SPH NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM.

AMONG ALL KALYANOTSAVAM OFFERED TO VARIOUS DEITIES, THIS MEENAKSHI TIRUKALYANAM STANDS DISTINCTLY APART FROM ANY OTHER MARRIAGE CEREMONY FOR MANY REASONS.

THE AGAMAS SAY THAT THE KALYANOTSAVAM SHOULD BE DONE EITHER IN THE MIDNIGHT OR IN THE DAY TIME. MOST OF THE KALYANOTSAVAM HAPPEN IN THE VARIOUS TEMPLES IN THE MIDNIGHT. MEENAKSHI KALYANAM IS UNIQUE IN THIS WAY BECAUSE IT HAPPENS IN THE DAY TIME.

THIS IS A CELESTIAL MARRIAGE CEREMONY, DEVI PARASHAKTI HERSELF CAME IN THE FORM OF MEENAKSHI AND IN THE SANNIDHI OF SOMASUNDARESHWARA SWAMI MARRIED PARAMASHIVA.

SOMASUNDARESHWARA SWAMI AND DEVI MEENAKSHI HAD RULED THE KINGDOM OF MADURAI FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS.

THIS MARRIAGE CEREMONY IS VERY UNIQUE BECAUSE WHEN PARASHAKTI HAD FIRST ASSUMED THE BODY AS SATI, HER FATHER WAS AN OBSTACLE AND WAS INCOMPLETE ABOUT HER MARRIAGE WITH PARAMASHIVA.

THIS REPRESENTS COMPLETION WITH THE INCOMPLETIONS WHICH ARE PRESENT AT OUR MUSCLE MEMORY. IN HER NEXT BIRTH AS PARVATI, HER MOTHER WAS INCOMPLETE WITH THE MARRIAGE WITH PARAMASHIVA. THIS REPRESENTS THE COMPLETION OF THE BIO-MEMORY.

BUT WHEN DEVI PARASHAKTI ASSUMED THE FORM OF MEENAKSHI BOTH HER FATHER AND MOTHER WERE COMPLETE WITH HER MARRIAGE WITH PARAMASHIVA. ALSO WHEN DEVI WAS IN THE BODY OF DAKSHAYANI OR PARVATI AFTER THE MARRIAGE SHE WENT TO PARAMASHIVA'S ABODE KAILAASA. USUALLY THE BRIDE GOES TO LIVE WITH THE GROOM IN HIS HOME.

BUT HERE AFTER THE MARRIAGE PARAMASHIVA DECIDES TO COME AND STAY IN MADURAI AND RULE OVER THE PANDYA KINGDOM FOR MANY YEARS. THERE IS A RITUAL IN THE HINDU MARRIAGE CALLED THE KANYA DAANA WHERE THE DAUGHTER IS GIVEN AWAY TO THE BRIDEGROOM. ONLY IN THE MEENAKSHI TIRUKALYANAM, INSTEAD OF GIVING AWAY THE KANYA THAT IS MEENAKSHI, SHE JUST REMAINS IN MADHURAI AND PARAMASHIVA COMES FROM KAILAASA TO RULE THE PANDYA KINGDOM WITH HER.

TODAY WE ARE BLESSED TO CELEBRATE THIS HAPPENING ACROSS THE GLOBE, ALONG WITH THE INCARNATION OF SOMASUNDARESHWAR AND MEENAKSHI , OUR BELOVED SWAMIJI - THE SPH NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM.

ANOTHER UNIQUE COMPONENT IN THIS MARRIAGE CEREMONY IS THAT HERE WILL BE TWO PRIEST, REPRESENTING SUNDARESHWARA AND MEENAKSHI AND THEY WILL BE ENACTING THE WHOLE MARRIAGE CEREMONY. WE WILL BE INVOKING SOMADESHWARA AND MEENAKSHI IN THE PRIESTS AND THEY WILL BE PERFORMING.

WE WILL HAVE A DIVINE TIME, WITH JOY, DEVOTION, AND INTENSE SHAKTI PADA WITH SPH SWAMIJI. AS THESE RITUALS ARE HAPPENING.

AS YOU WATCH THE RITUAL YOU WILL GETTING TO KNOW THE RITUALS GOING ON, AND WE WILL BE ALSO GETTING INTO THE LEELA DHYANA OF DEVI MEENAKSHI FROM HALASYAMATHYAM, FROM THE SKANDA PURANA IN THE AGASTHYA SAMHITA.

THESE EVENTS TOOK PLACE MANY YEARS AGO ARE RECREATED WHY THE POSITIONS OF THE CELESTIAL BODIES IN THE COSMOS. WHEN THE CELESTIAL BODIES OF THE SUN MOON, AND OTHER GRAHAS AND NAKSHATRAS ARE ALIGNED IN THE SAME WAY THEY WERE YEARS AGO DURING MEENAKSHI’S MARRIAGE AN INTENSE CLARYVIONCE INVOKES THE PRESENCE OF PARAMASHIVA, PARASHAKTI ALL THE GODS AND GODDESS WHO HAD ATTENDED THIS CELESTIAL WEDDING.

GLIMPSES OF LINGODBHAVA BHAVA SAMADHI DARSHAN || SHANI PRADOSHAM || 24 APRIL 2021

LINGODBHAVA IS THE INCARNATION OF PARAMASHIVA AS A LIGHT SHAFT HAPPENED TO LIBERATE BRAHMA AND VISHNU FROM THE DELUSION. MAHADEVA, BHAGAVAN PARAMASHIVA, APPEARED, IN FRONT OF VISHNU, AND BRAHMA, GAVE DARSHAN TO BOTH OF THEM AND REMOVED THEIR EGO, BLESSED BOTH OF THEM AND REVEALED THE ULTIMATE TRUTH.

BHAGAVAN MAHAVISHNU AND BHAGAVAN BRAHMA EXPERIENCED BHAGAVAN PARAMASHIVA IN THE FORMLESS FORM. THE COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS, AS A LIGHT BEAM, THE PURE CONSCIOUSNESS.

SCRIPTURAL REFERENCE FROM ARUNACHALA PURANA - THE HAPPENING OF LINGODBHAVA
BRAHMA IS THE CREATOR. HE IS THE CREATION PRINCIPLE. HE WAS CREATED AND MANIFESTED FROM THE CREATION PRINCIPLE OF PARAMASHIVA. PARAMASHIVA’S FIVE HEADS - FROM ONE HEAD, THE CREATION PRINCIPLE MANIFESTS AS BRAHMA AND FROM BRAHMA, CREATION HAPPENS. SAME WAY, VIṢHṆU MANIFESTED FOR MAINTENANCE.

VIṢHṆU AND BRAHMA ARE ATTENTION-DRAWING COLOURFUL ACTION. THEY DELUDE THEMSELVES THAT THEY ARE BOTH ULTIMATE AND BETWEEN THEM THEY START FIGHTING AS TO WHO IS GREATER? BRAHMA REPRESENTS KNOWLEDGE AND VISHNU REPRESENTS WEALTH. KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED FOR CREATION AND WEALTH IS REQUIRED FOR MAINTENANCE.

PARAMASHIVA MANIFESTED AS DEEPA STAMBHA, JYOTHI STAMBHA TO BRAHMA AND VISHNU LIBERATING THEM FROM DELUSION AS TO WHO IS MORE POWERFUL OR IMPORTANT AMONGST THEM. THERE WAS A BIG CHAOS AND STAGNANCY IN THE COSMOS. PARAMASHIVA HAD TO INTERVENE! PARAMASHIVA APPEARS AS A LIGHT SHAFT AND TELLS THEM, “WHOEVER FINDS MY HEAD OR FEET FIRST IS THE MORE POWERFUL PERSON.”

IMMEDIATELY BRAHMA TAKES THE FORM OF A SWAN AND FLIES UPWARDS SAYING, “I WILL GO AND FIND YOUR HEAD.” VISHNU TAKES THE FORM OF A VARAHA (PIG) - SAYING, “I WILL GO AND FIND YOUR FEET.”

BOTH ARE NOT ABLE TO FIND EITHER THE HEAD OR FEET. VISHNU ACCEPTS THAT HE IS NOT ABLE TO FIND, BUT BRAHMA, NOT ONLY HE WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND THE HEAD, BUT HE WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCEPT IT.

THEY BOTH START FEELING THAT THEY ARE BOTH ULTIMATE, AND THE NEXT LEVEL DELUSION IS THAT THEY BOTH ARE FIGHTING AS TO WHO IS MORE POWERFUL. NATURALLY, PARAMASHIVA HAS TO LIBERATE THEM FROM THEIR DELUSION. NEITHER CREATION, NOR SUSTENANCE IS ULTIMATE. ULTIMATE IS LIBERATION! PARAMASHIVA PULLS BOTH OF THEM OUT OF DELUSION AND LIBERATES THEM.

THE MOMENT PARAMASHIVA APPEARS AS JYOTIR LINGA, HE TELLS BRAHMA AND VISHNU, “WHOEVER FINDS MY HEAD OR FEET, WILL BE DECLARED AS SUPREME.” BRAHMA BECOMES A SWAN AND FLIES TOWARDS THE HEAD. THE SWAN ALWAYS LIVES IN THE LOTUS. HE SHOULD HAVE ACTUALLY GONE TO FIND THE LOTUS FEET! VISHNU TAKES THE FORM OF A PIG. THE PIG ALWAYS LIVES IN FOREST. HE SHOULD HAVE ACTUALLY TAKEN THE DECISION TO GO TOWARDS PARAMASHIVA’S JATAA - FOREST!

BOTH COULD NOT FIND THE TWO ENDS. VISHNU GOES ON DIGGING. EVEN THEN HE REACHES ONLY UP TO THE CALF MUSCLE OF PARAMASHIVA. TO MARK THAT, HE TIES A BELL ON PARAMASHIVA’S CALF MUSCLE. THAT IS WHY IN ALL SHIVA DEITIES, THERE WILL BE A BELL ON SHIVA’S CALF MUSCLES. BRAHMA TAKES THE FORM OF A SWAN AND FLIES, AND HIS AGE IS ALMOST OVER. HE THEN FINDS THAT HE CANNOT FIND THE HEAD. HHEE THEN SEES A FLOWER FALLING. HE ASKS, “WHERE ARE YOU COMING FROM?”. THE FLOWER SAYS, “FROM SHIVA’S EARS.” HE ASKS, “SINCE WHEN ARE YOU FALLING?” THE FLOWER SAYS, “FOR FOUR BRAHMA’S AGE.”

KNOWLEDGE ALWAYS HAS EGO. IT CANNOT ACCEPT DEFEAT. BRAHMA WHO REPRESENTS KNOWLEDGE ASKS THE FLOWER, CAN YOU SUPPORT ME BY SAYING THAT I BROUGHT YOU FROM THE HEAD OF PARAMASHIVA? I WILL GIVE YOU LOTS OF BOONS.” THE FLOWER GOT A LITTLE TEMPTED.

BRAHMA GOES TO PARAMASHIVA AND LIES SAYING, “I FOUND YOUR HEAD AND THIS IS THE WITNESS.” THE MOMENT PARAMASHIVA STARES AT BOTH OF THEM, BOTH THE FLOWER WITHERS AND THE SWAN’S FEATHERS BURN AWAY.

BRAHMA GETS THE CURSE THAT HE WILL NEVER BE WORSHIPPED ANYMORE AND THE FLOWER GETS CURSED THAT IT WILL NEVER BE USED IN SHIVA PUJA. THEN BRAHMA DOES TAPAS AND ASKS FOR FORGIVENESS.

PARAMASHIVA IS ETERNAL COMPASSION. HE SAYS, “YOU WILL BE THERE IN ALL MY TEMPLES, NORTH FACING, WHERE MY SACRED BATH WATER WILL COME THROUGH THE GOMUKHA, AND FROM THAT WATER, YOU CAN DO THE CREATION. THE FLOWER WAS GIVEN THE ‘SHAAPA VIMOCHANA’ THAT ONCE A YEAR, FOR SHIVARATRI DAY, THE FLOWER WILL BE USED FOR SHIVA PUJA, NOT ANY OTHER TIME.

EVEN NOW, IN TIRUVANNAMALAI, THE LINGODBHAVA WILL BE WORSHIPPED WITH ‘TAAZHAM POO’ ONLY ON SHIVARATRI DAY. YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND THE DEEPER LAYERS AND MEANING. KNOWLEDGE AND WEALTH CANNOT SHOW YOU THE ULTIMATE AND IT IS NOT ULTIMATE. ENLIGHTENMENT ALONE IS ULTIMATE! BOTH VIṢṆU AND BRAHMA REQUESTED SHIVA TO RETAIN HIS FORM AS THAT SHAFT OF LIGHT TO BLESS THE UNIVERSE. AT THEIR REQUEST, SHIVA, IN THAT FORM OF DIVINE LIGHT, BECAME ARUNĀCALA, THE GLOWING MOUNTAIN IN TIRUVANNAMALAI!

TRUE TO HIS PROMISE, PARAMASHIVA RETAINED HIS FORM AS THE ARUNĀCALA MOUNTAIN, ASSUMED THE FORM OF THE ŚIVALIṄGA CALLED ARUNĀCALEŚVARA, AT THE TEMPLE IN TIRUVANNAMALAI AND IS INCARNATING CONTINUOUSLY KEEPING THE UNBROKEN LINEAGE OF ENLIGHTENED BEINGS IN TIRUVANNAMALAI TILL DATE.
