Most men wear white dhoti and bare upper bodies, with rudraksha malas around their necks, and several hold their hands in anjali mudra. Brass plates with flowers, red offerings, fruit and small oil lamps sit in front of them along the rows. Several people in the front right wear saffron cloth and white garments. This appears to be a group puja or aarti with offerings. No single person in the foreground can be confirmed as a person by appearance, and no throne or distinctive ceremonial figure is clearly identifiable.2018-12-31 +1 copiesA photograph of a seated group of devotees in white traditional clothing performing a candlelit devotional ritual in a dim hall. Rows of women and some men sit cross-legged on a wooden floor with hands pressed together in anjali mudra, many wearing rudraksha-style beaded necklaces. Brass plates with flowers, fruit and oil lamps sit in front of them, with lit diyas glowing across the floor and warm light reflecting off the polished surface. Several devotees have their eyes closed in prayer.2018-12-31December 04 20102010-12-04December 10 20072007-12-10December 17 20062006-12-17A seated group of women in saffron, orange and red saris and white and yellow outfits holds lit oil lamps and brass plates at a hall floor during a ritual gathering. Several lamps burn in small brass dishes on red cloths in the foreground. Behind them, more people sit on chairs in a room with cream walls, a curtain and a side table with a green cloth and steel vessels. The page refers to a satsang, but no speaker or throne is visible, so no a person candidate is identified.2010-12-04Night photograph of a large outdoor gathering of devotees performing fire rituals on sandy ground. Hundreds of people sit in rows behind small brick-built fire pits, each with a burning flame, offering plates, steel bowls and flower garlands in front of them. Many women wear white and cream saris with coloured borders, one in a green sari and another in red and white. Men wear white shirts and dhotis. Smoke and haze hang over the crowd, lit by warm flame light and a distant spotlight. A foreground woman in a red blouse and white bordered sari sits with an offering plate. The scene suggests a homa or fire ritual performed collectively.2007-02-11
