Most men wear white dhoti and bare upper bodies, with rudraksha malas around their necks, and several hold their hands in anjali mudra. Brass plates with flowers, red offerings, fruit and small oil lamps sit in front of them along the rows. Several people in the front right wear saffron cloth and white garments. This appears to be a group puja or aarti with offerings. No single person in the foreground can be confirmed as a person by appearance, and no throne or distinctive ceremonial figure is clearly identifiable.2018-12-31 +1 copiesDecember 10 20072007-12-10December 31 20182018-12-31November 12 20102010-11-12December 31 20182018-12-31December 31 20182018-12-31 +2 copiesNight-time photograph of a sacred fire ritual on open sandy ground. Several small fires burn in separate circular pits, with flames and smoke rising behind them. Many people sit cross-legged in white clothing around the fire pits, some facing the flames, and a few stand near the smoke in the background. A striped red-and-white barrier and a low wall are visible at the back left. The scene suggests a homa or yagna gathering, with white-clad participants seated at each fire.2006-08-19A photograph of many young men seated cross-legged in rows on mats and a tiled floor, dressed in white dhotis and white shirts with red-bordered shawls and rudraksha malas. Many hold lit oil lamps or small flames, and brass plates with flowers, fruit and offerings sit before them. A few seated men lean forward to tend the plates, and a bald man in the centre tends a lamp on a brass plate.2010-12-27A dim night gathering of a large seated crowd, mostly dressed in white, in front of a lit oil lamp and brass offering plates on a low platform. Many attendees hold small lamps or ritual items, and an arrangement of fruit, incense and small brass vessels lies on the mat in front. Several men wear rudraksha malas, and one woman in a lavender-blue garment sits among the group. Overhead string lights glow faintly in a dark hall.2005-12-15
