A seated figure in an orange robe with a saffron-coloured shawl, dark wavy hair, a bindi and a beaded rudraksha-style mala sits on a white cushioned seat, hands joined in front of the chest. A man in white clothes with a yellow shawl kneels on the floor before the seated figure, holding a small brass pot. A younger man in white with an orange shawl sits beside the seat, holding a brass plate of white flower petals. To the left, another person in orange sits partly visible. Behind them, a row of people in white clothes with orange and yellow shawls stands and sits along the wall, and a tall wooden staff with an orange cloth is raised at the right edge. A rolled woven mat lies on the floor beneath the seat.2007-08-08May 21 20062006-05-21Outdoors at night, a square mud fire pit bordered in yellow holds a small fire of thin sticks with flower petals scattered around it. A seated figure in orange-saffron robes and an orange head wrap, with a rudraksha mala, pours from a small brass vessel into the fire, a copper pot and brass plate of offerings beside them. Around the pit sit about a dozen devotees in white clothes, some with beards, some with folded hands, watching the fire ritual under a dark tree. A man in white on the right holds a camera-like object. The setting suggests a homa or yagna being performed.2003-03-01 +1 copies
