A man in a saffron-orange robe and matching orange head wrap, seated at left, holds a ladle over the fire and speaks into a microphone on a stand. Beside him, seated devotees in white ritual clothes press their palms together or hold incense sticks, and a brass vessel of ghee and small oil lamps sit near the pit. Behind them, a large brass lamp stand and a dark-framed metal artwork hang on the wall, with rows of seated devotees in white and a woman in yellow sari at right. Ritual performed with a fire pit and offerings, consistent with a homa. Appearance-based cues: saffron robe and orange head wrap, but not enough for a confident identity; the figure is labelled only as the officiating priest leading the homa.2004-07-02July 17 20152015-07-17November 24 20062006-11-24A homa ritual in a tent-like hall. In the centre, a man in orange robes and a rudraksha mala sits cross-legged before a square brick fire pit with burning embers and offerings. Beside him, a priest in orange and a seated attendant tend the fire. Standing priests in white dhotis with gold-bordered shawls, rudraksha malas and bare shoulders surround the area. To the right, a tiered altar with a deity murti and gold-framed images, brass lamps, and kalasha-like vessels. A red and green striped mat lies on the floor. Roughly ten people are visible.2015-09-14October 16 20102010-10-16 +1 copiesA crowded outdoor ritual scene in front of a stone structure, with many devotees in white clothes behind. In the foreground, several saffron-robed monastics sit or stand on an orange cloth with a brass plate of offerings and a small bowl. A tall man in saffron robes with long swept-back hair, a gold necklace and rudraksha malas stands at centre, hands folded, with other orange-clad men and a bald man in saffron near him. A woman in white with folded hands kneels nearby. Water appears on the stone floor beside a large stone pedestal. a person: the tall figure in saffron with long hair, gold necklace and malas is a candidate for a person, standing among the orange-clad group during the ritual.2010-12-29
