A crowd of men in white dhotis and orange shoulder cloths lifts and carries a heavy wooden frame or litter on long poles. In the foreground, several men in white and one man in a red-orange shirt and checked lungi push and hold the poles. Behind them, a group of people in white and orange stands watching, including a bare-headed man in a white kurta with a rudraksha-style mala, several women in white saris with orange borders, and a light-haired woman in white. A white cloth canopy and a yellow machine frame stand at the left wall. Dim artificial lighting and bare concrete surfaces define the setting.2007-04-19A photograph of an outdoor construction scene under trees, where several workers carry a heavy dark granite slab with carved relief lines across its face, lifting it with cloth-wrapped hands over a rough stone and cement base. A man in white shirt and white dhoti with a red neck cord is at the centre, guiding the stone. Several people in white dhoti-style clothing with orange sashes gather around a wooden palanquin-like platform or frame on the floor, several of them holding its poles and lifting or moving it. Some are barefoot. A few onlookers in white shirts and a woman in white stand along the wall at the back, and a man in a plaid shirt stands near the platform.
