A shaved-headed man in white ritual clothes kneels at the left, hands pressed together and head bowed toward a tall-haired figure in orange-saffron robes with a red tilak on the forehead, who stands with one hand raised over the kneeling man's head. The standing figure has long, swept-back dark hair and bare shoulders, and appears to be a sannyasi or ritual officiant, a person by appearance cues. Behind them a second orange-robed attendant and a white-clad figure tend the shivalinga, which is being bathed with water. Brass vessels sit on the floor, a red cloth hangs at left, a grey water tank stands above, and ornate green and gold drapery and a metal pedestal appear at right.2007-02-23February 23 20072007-02-23August 26 20072007-08-26February 23 20072007-02-23October 19 20082008-10-19Night photograph of a shaved-headed priest bent forward at a dark stone shivalingam set on a yoni-pitha base, pouring or touching it with his right hand. He wears an orange-saffron cloth draped over his bare upper body and a red-and-brown dhoti-style lower cloth. Behind him a group of standing men in white shirts and white dhotis, one with an orange shawl, watch closely; one man at right wears a pendant necklace. Red-painted stone and marigold petals surround the base, and a large white-draped statue with a gold border rises at the right edge. The priest's lower body and an oil lamp at the far left frame the scene.2006-12-22February 23 20072007-02-23October 08 20072007-10-08
