A photograph of a homa fire ritual in a temple hall. A priest in orange robes with a red-bordered cloth and a beaded mala stands at a fire pit, pouring from a silver ladle into the burning flames. He wears white sacred markings on his arms and forehead, and his head is shaved. Behind him is a table draped in teal and gold cloth, holding silver kalashas topped with mango leaves and coconuts. A seated deity murti stands in the background, with a lit oil lamp on a shelf. Floor mats and books lie around the fire pit.2013-06-27June 23 20132013-06-23June 23 20132013-06-23 +1 copiesJune 27 20132013-06-27June 28 20132013-06-28June 27 20132013-06-27November 19 20132013-11-19A shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes and a beaded rudraksha-style mala sits cross-legged on an ornate carved wooden seat with gold lion-head armrests, holding a wooden ladle over a stone homa or yagna pit while pouring from it. A silver bowl sits on the stone platform beside him, and a brass oil lamp stands behind. A gold-and-brass ceremonial umbrella stands at the rear, along with garlanded flowers, a microphone on a stand, and a kalasha-style vessel on a red-draped altar. Other hands are visible at the lower left among silver pots and folded cloths. The setting appears to be a temple-style hall with red and white striped walls.2010-11-09A shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes sits on a carved wooden chair beside a square homa fire pit lined with white stone, pouring or offering from a ladle with a metal bowl at his left. He wears a gold beaded necklace and gold bangles. Behind him are brass oil lamps, kalasha pots wrapped in netting with mango-leaf and coconut tops, and a pink and blue deity murti garlanded with yellow marigolds. Lit string lights and flowers fill the background.2011-10-03January 22 20142014-01-22December 25 20122012-12-25 +1 copiesMarch 22 20132013-03-22
