A young male priest in a red dhoti with gold-bordered edges stands with palms pressed together in namaskar beside a flaming fire pit (homa) on a white-tiled platform. White ash markings on his arms and forehead, and rudraksha-style beads at his neck. Behind him, a dark stone deity murti adorned with a garland stands on a white-draped table lined with kalasha pots topped with saffron-coloured cones, and a metal lamp stand and bowls of flowers sit in the foreground. Smoke fills the warm-lit hall, with a bright decorated shrine visible at the right.2013-06-27A photograph of a yagna or homa at a temple. A young man in a red dhoti and red upper cloth edged with gold bands stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, eyes closed, a red tilak on his forehead and white sacred markings on his arms. Beside him a large fire blazes on a raised altar, with rows of brass kalashas and oil lamps set on a white-draped table. Brass plates with flowers, fruit and offerings lie on the floor. A dark deity murti with garlands stands in the background, and a smoky, dimly lit hall surrounds the scene.2013-06-27June 27 20132013-06-27June 28 20132013-06-28June 23 20132013-06-23June 27 20132013-06-27Photo 11744428 +1 copiesMarch 05 20152015-03-05Photo 11742916 +1 copiesPhoto 11732683 +1 copiesApril 23 20122012-04-23August 22 20132013-08-22
