Description:

What is Dharma (cosmic law)? the age old question is answered in a simple and straight forward way by the top Spiritual Guru Paramahamsa Nithyananda in His discourse delivered to the global live audience this 12th of September, 2013 Swamiji spoke about Dhamma; the law of life that flows into you with no necessity for Spiritual Practice. Dhamma is the non-controversial flow of life that leaves both sides complete. the basic principle is what you don't want done to you , you don't do to others. You don's want others stealing form You don't want people to steal from you so you practice astheya-non stealing. You don't want planet earth stripped of all resources so you practice aparigraha-living with only what you need. You don't want someone to kill or hurt you so you practice ahimsa non-harming. You don't want to be lied to so you practice satya- telling the truth and you don't want another person to violate your physical space so you practice brahamacharya- no interfering in someones physical space. Completion means burning all the complicated patterns that keep you in incompletion.I is so unfortunate that these days the brain is established in incompletion. In that case spontaneity leads to lying. When you are complete spontaneity leads to only more completion. Completion is the only thing you need to practice. When you are in the space of completion you are flowing with the natural flow of life; you are in right karma.

I welcome all of you with my love and blessings!

Today I will expand on the word, one word – “DHAMMA”.

What is Dhamma? Understand, I am defining “Dhamma”.

Dhamma is the law of life which flows into you as the natural existential experience without any necessity for spiritual practice or understanding.

Please understand, Dhamma is the natural flow of law of life, natural flow of law of existence;, without any necessity for any spiritual practice or understanding. Understand these truths!

If somebody tries to attack you, what will you do? Naturally you will defend yourself. Do you need a special spiritual practice for it? Do you need a special understanding? Whether you know the technique or not, method or not, system or not, by the very existence, you will defend your life. Because you don’t want to be killed, you not killing others is Dhamma.

Please understand, because you don’t want to be killed, you not killing others that is Ahimsa. Whatever you don’t want to be done to you, not doing that to others.

Same way, your properties, naturally you don’t want that to be stolen. So, you not stealing others’ property is Astheya.

Naturally you don’t want anybody to lie to you. You not lying to others is Sathya. Whether you are a man or a woman, naturally you don’t want anybody’s physical interference in your life, uninformed and uninvited physical interference in your life. Doing the same to others, not interfering in others’ physical space uninformed and uninvited, is Brahmacharya.

See, very clearly, Dhamma, Dhamma is nothing but just these few basic truths! You don’t want to be killed, so don’t kill others. You don’t want to be lied to, so don’t lie to others. You don’t want to be robbed, so don’t rob others. You don’t want to be exploited, so don’t exploit others. You don’t want others to live with all the resources of the world, so you don’t do the same – Aparigraha.

Please understand, Astheya, Aparigraha, Brahmacharya, Sathya, Ahimsa – non-violence, truthfulness,non-stealing, not robbing the resources of the world, and non-interference in others’ physical plane.

Please listen! Do you need any special spiritual practice or understanding to live these principles? No!

See, when somebody attacks you, do you need a special spiritual understanding, or for ages do you have to read some books, or do some spiritual practice to defend you? See, whether you are able to defend yourself or not is separate; whether you are successful or not is separate; but even a worm or ant raises itself and tries to defend itself. Understand, you defending your existence, you defending your life, you defending your identity, you defending what you think as you, is natural. Do the same thing to others.

That is what is “natural flow of life”.

Understand, Dhamma is always non-controversial. Please listen! Anything other than Dharma, anything other than Dhamma, always will leave some incompletion in you, some controversy in you. Dhamma is the one and only non-controversial flow of life, flow of existence!

All judgments lead to more and more arguments, appeal. But all the solutions based on Dhamma leave both sides complete, please listen, because Dhamma is a natural law of life, natural existence of life. Dhamma does not need any special spiritual practice, special spiritual understanding. It is just established on one truth: “What you don’t want to be done to you, don’t do it to others!” that’s all.

I have a story for you guys:

A man and his wife, both of them are in the Divorce Court. Both are young. The big problem is the custody of their children. Custody of their children posed a big problem.

The mother jumped to her feet and protested to the Judge that since she brought the children into this world, she should retain custody of them, she should have the custody of them.

The man also wanted custody of his children.

The Judge asked him, ‘What is the justification you are going to give?

After a long silence, the man suddenly jumps to his feet and says, ‘Your Honor, when I put a dollar in a vending machine and a Coke comes out, does the Coke belong to me or to the machine?’

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA…!

If you missed it, you missed it…! I think, Indians don’t understand, because, still in India, the vending machine is not that popular, vending machine is not that much a part of the lifestyle! Anyhow…! Law leads to more arguments, and laws are designed by lawyers who enjoy arguments!

Please understand! Dhamma is designed by Rishis who enjoy solutions. Law is designed by lawyers who always think, ‘I should leave a little grey area for me to exploit later on.’ But Dhamma is designed by Rishis who are interested in solutions!

Understand! Of course, even this argument is not complete. You can always say the vending machine is a machine, woman is not a machine. Sometimes, vending machines do not work; then who is responsible for that? And vending machine doesn’t go through any pain or suffering when it delivers the Coke can!

Understand, all I am trying to tell you is, Dhamma is the natural flow of law of existence, and in your life if you start aligning your inner being to Dhamma, you won the game. You won the game if you align yourself to Dhamma. You won the game if you can bring yourself to Dhamma. The whole Completion process is just bringing yourself to a space where you experience constant Dhamma in life! The complicated mental setup which does not let you realize Dhamma, burning them, is “Completion” process.

Listen! If you go and stand in the center of Mysore Road, not moving, surely, within ten-twenty minutes you will be killed! It is a law! To this precision, Dhamma can be experienced!

Understand, if you get into the car and drive the car properly, you can reach wherever you want. It is a law. It is an outer world science. To this precision, you can experience the power of Dhamma!

In the traditional stories of the Shaiva saints, there is a story:

A saint, Cheraman Perumal, just initiated a horse into the Panchakshara – Shiva’s name – and got onto the horse and reached Kailash! Understand, the power of the Panchakshara…..it is so powerful it changed the DNA of the horse to raise this guy to Kailash!

It is not a story! Just like you say, you can get into your Benz and drive and reach wherever you want, same way this principle is the truth. Because of your incompletions, you don’t realize that lying has become your spontaneity. Please understand, instead of Completion being your spontaneity, lying has become your spontaneity. You can lie more comfortably than telling the truth.

I think many of the Lie Detector machines are wrong. These machines need to be re-designed. These machines are developed based on the “comfort zone” you carry inside. When you utter a word, are you comfortable or uncomfortable, based on that they tell you: If you are comfortable, you are telling the truth. If you are uncomfortable, you are telling a lie. I tell you, modern man has crossed that zone. He can lie more comfortably than telling the truth. Only when he tells the truth he has to think more and more what all ways he has to protect himself! When he lies, he is very comfortable, because he has already planned his whole story!

Unfortunately, lying became a more spontaneous thinking style than being integrated!

A story:

A man buys a Lie Detector Robot that slaps people who lie. He decides to test it at dinner.

He asks his son, ‘Son, where were you today during school hours?’

The son says, ‘At school’.

The robot slaps the son!

The son says, ‘Okay, I watched a DVD at my friend’s place.’

Dad asks, ‘Which one?’

The son says, ‘Kung Fu Panda.’

The robot slaps the son again!

The son says, ‘Okay! It was a porn…!’

Dad says, ‘what! When I was your age, I didn’t even know what porn was?’

The robot slaps the dad!

Mom laughs and says, ‘After all he is your son…’

The robot slaps the mom!

Understand, people are able to lie more spontaneously than tell the truth. No, it has become an unfortunate pattern! The brain is established in incompletion! The brain is established in the space of incompletion!

Please understand, this is the greatest harm done to humanity, without understanding, what you do comes back to you! What you do comes back to you!

I have a story:

One day, Bill Gates dies in a car accident, he finds himself in the court of the Lord; God says, ‘Well Bill, I’m really confused on this call, I’m not sure whether to send you to heaven or hell, after all you enormously helped society by putting a computer in almost every home in America, yet you also created that ghastly Windows 95, I’m going to do something I have never done before! In your case, I’m going to let you decide where you want to go!

Bill replied, ‘well, what’s the difference between the two, heaven and hell?’

God said, ‘I’m willing to let you visit both places briefly if it will help your decision’.

Bill says, ‘fine, but where should I go first?’

God says, ‘I’ll leave that up to you!’

Bill said, ‘okay, then let me try hell first’. And, he went to hell. There was a clean, beautiful sandy beach with clear waters and lot of beautiful women running around, playing in the water, laughing, giggling; the sun was shining; the temperature was perfect! He was very pleased. ‘This is great’, he told God, ‘if this is hell, then I really want to see heaven!’

God said, ‘Fine!’ and took him to heaven. Heaven was a place high in the clouds with angels drifting about, playing harps and singing, it was nice but not as enticing as hell. Bill thought for a moment and rendered his decision, ‘umm, I think I’d prefer hell’, he told God.

God said, ‘fine, tathasthu! As you desire!’

So, Bill Gates went to hell.

Two weeks later, God decided to go for his rounds and see how Bill Gates is doing in hell. When he went there, he saw Bill Gates shackled to the wall, screaming among hot flames and in dark caves being burned and tortured by demons as described in books. He asked Bill, ‘how is everything going?’

Bill responded with his voice filled with anguish and disappointment, ‘this is awful, this is nothing like the hell I visited 2 weeks ago, I can’t believe this is happening! What happened to the other place with beaches, beautiful women playing in the water?’

God says, ‘oh, that was the demo!’

Understand, the basic law of life is: “What you do to others will come back to you”. If you don’t want to be hurt, don’t hurt others. If you don’t want life to cheat you, don’t cheat life. Don’t ever think you can steal in one place and take it somewhere where you want and you can live happily there. Don’t think you can harm somebody here and run away and live in some other place where you will not be harmed!

The vibrations you create in one place do not stay in that place. It stays with you! Please understand, the vibrations you create in one place do not stay in that place, it stays with you!

Listen! I am defining the relationship with Dharma and Karma. Listen! Come to the space of listening!

If somebody tries to attack you, and you defending yourself, is a natural law of life, Dhamma. Same way, you not attacking others, not harming others, is good Karma. Knowingly, you harming others, is bad Karma. That is all!

Understand, whatever is your natural flow is Dhamma. You not doing that to others is Karma.

Listen! Listen! You understanding you will protect you when somebody tries to attack you, is Dhamma, natural law of life. You doing the same thing to others by not attacking, is right Karma. Attacking is wrong Karma; that is all!

A simple flow of life is Dharma and Karma.

Listen! Anything you create, anything you do, anything you mull over, anything you try to digest, anything you try to practice is not natural law of life. If at all you have to practice something, it is only one thing – COMPLETION! That’s all! Only one thing you need to practice – COMPLETION! Means, getting back to your natural space, your original space. Other than Completion, nothing else needs to be practiced. Simply you know the law of life!

How can you live in life without being bothered about what you think about others think and what others think about you? That forms ninety-nine percent of your life and interaction. Understand, Dhamma is all about falling into the natural law of what you think about others and what others think about you! When you are in the space of natural law of existence, when you are in the space of natural law of existence, I tell you, you are established in the right Karma! You will never be able to do any wrong Karma. When you are in the space of Completion and completely in tune with the natural law of life, even if you have done any wrong Karma earlier, its power melts down!

Please understand, life responds to the space and vibration you carry inside you, not just to the actions you did. If you can alter the space you carry inside, even the earlier so-called wrong Karmas, negative Karmas, melt down, and its impact on you expires. Its impact on you dissolves. Its impact on you dissolves, its impact on you disappears.

Understand the law of life, natural existence of life, natural flow of life!
