Description:
In today’s morning satsang, Paramahamsa Nithyananda (Swamiji) reveals the original philosophy of Madurai Adheenam. A number of monastic communities have attributed the foundation of Madurai Adheenam to Saiva Siddhanta, the Shiva-Wisdom school of Hindu spiritual practice. Paramahamsa’s research has demonstrated differently, however. He has examined the writings of Jnanasambhandar, the saint who brought Madurai Adheenam to its full glory, and nowhere in those writings is there any mention of Saiva Siddhanta. The only philosophical reference is to Vedic tradition, which is consistent with the mystical understanding that the community was created by Shiva and Devi themselves in their incarnations of Chokanathur and Meenakshi. Saiva Siddhanta did not actually take shape as a philosophy until nearly 800 years after the life of Jnanasambhandar. Thus, Madurai Adheenam is founded purely on Vedic tradition. Paramahamsa declares his dedication to restoring this honorable heritage and infusing it with new relevance for our lives today.

Madurai Aadheenam & Vedic tradition
As on now, society and the so-called other religious leaders believe that Saiva Siddhanta is the philosophy of Madurai Aadheenam. I strongly differ from it. Please understand, Saiva Siddhanta has evolved as a philosophy only few hundred years before; at least 800 hundred years after Madurai Aadheenam’s revival, not even establishment; revival! Revival itself is done by Jnanasambhandar in the first century. Saiva Siddhanta, the very word does not exist is any of Jnana Sambhandar’s verses. The word Saiva Siddantha does not exist in any of Jnana Sambhandar’s original songs, poetries. I have thoroughly studied; I am talking after studying thoroughly. I am creating a huge controversy; that’s my lifestyle.
Then people might think, is Advaita/Vedanta Madurai Aadheenam’s philosophy? No! Adi Shanakara is at least 300 years younger than Jnanasambhandar. Jnanasambhandar is at least 300 years older than Shankaracharya, that is why Adi Shankara sings about Jnanasambhandar in Soundarya Lahari. Soundarya Lahari was sung when Adi Shankara was in the mood of Shiva.
Then what is Madurai Aadheenam’s philosophy? I thoroughly went through all the writings of Thiru Jnanasambhandar. The only one word he mentions about philosophy is “Veda neri thazha thonga”; Vedic tradition is the philosophy of Madurai Aadheenam. I went through the whole Thiru Jnanasambhandar’s writings, nowhere he talks about or even utters the word “ Saiva Siddantha”.
Saiva Siddhanta philosophy is evolved by Guru Jnanasambhandar, who is the head of Dharmapuram Aadhenam; who is the founder of Dharmapuram Aadhenam. In course of time, because Madurai Aadheenam was a little weak, the other Aadhenam’s had more property and an upper hand, they forced Saiva Siddhanta as the philosophy of Madurai Aadheenam. Madurai Aadheenam belongs to Vedic tradition. Vedanta and Siddantha; all philosophies are branches of Madurai Aadheenam. So, Shankar Mutts and all other Aadhenam’s are followers of Madurai Aadheenam. Understand, if Buddhism, evolves after the Vedic tradition; knowingly/ unknowingly; directly/ indirectly, Buddhism is strongly influenced by Vedic tradition. So, Buddhism is a disciple / follower of Vedic tradition. If Jainism evolves after Buddhism, knowingly/unknowingly; directly/indirectly, Jainism is a follower of Buddhism. If Sikhism evolves after Jainism, knowingly/unknowingly; directly/indirectly, Sikhism is a follower of Jain tradition. Understand, Vedanta and Saiva Siddhanta evolved after the Vedic tradition; the tradition of Madurai Aadheenam. So, both of them, Shankar Mutts’s and all other Aadhenam’s are followers of Madurai Aadheenam.
Throughout Jnanasambhandar’s writings, nowhere he mentions the word Saiva Siddhanta, because the word did not exist at that time! The philosophy of Saiva Siddhanta evolved at least; at least 800 years after Thiru Jnanasambhandar’s advent. I also want all of you to understand Jnanasambhandar’s greatness in depth. There are various levels of divine descending on human body. Like Ramana Maharishi, one level; he happened in the human body, he had a death experience, became enlightened and radiated that consciousness to the whole world. Ramakrishna, another one level, he landed on the planet earth, became enlightened, expressed various extraordinary experiences and powers and shared his greatness with the whole world; shared the message of enlightenment with the whole world. That is one level, and the next level; please understand, I am not comparing with the Masters, I am not creating any conflict; I am just making a philosophy more lucid and understandable; that’s all I am trying to do.
Please understand, Thiru Jnanasambhandar; a great master, his biomemory itself was never disconnected from the cosmic consciousness; that is why, within three years, he just remembered his original state and the cosmic mother; Nature; Prakrithi offered her own essence, which is enlightenment into Jnanasambhandar. That is what we visually portray; Devi appeared and offered her own breast milk, it is a visual presentation of the ultimate truth; the cosmic mother prakrithi, nature, opened up herself to Thiru Jnanasambhandar, poured her essence into Thiru Jnanasambhandar. I told you, 3 years is the time usually a child feels the individual identity; ‘pratyaghatma chaitanya jagrutha’. Brain becomes capable of experiencing individual identity. Please understand, I am giving you the mystical, akashic recordings of original happenings ‘as it is’ of Jnanasambhandar’s happening /biography.
At the age of 3, when Jnanasambhandar has started feeling that individual identity may start happening in him, he felt deeply disturbed, He wants to remain in cosmic consciousness. So he strongly cried, expressed his deep suffocation, uncomfortable, disturbed feeling towards the cosmos. His body was established, his biomemory was established in enlightenment, that is why, the moment he expressed his suffocation, cosmos had to respond; cosmos had to appear; cosmos had to express itself. Immediately the cosmos expressed itself to bless Thiru Jnanasambhandar; to make Thiru Jnanasambhandar experience the ultimate. The cosmic mother, prakrithi, Devi appears and pours her own essence into him, which is enlightenment. That is the story of ‘enlightenment milk’; ‘enlightening milk’ ‘Jnana pal’. When cosmos poured her essence into Thiru Jnanasambhandar, he became enlightened and in the gratitude and ecstasy, Samadhi, the extraordinary sacred sentiments started expressing from him. Please understand, there is no intellectual philosophy in Jnanasambhandar’s writings, it is all just expression of sacred sentiments out of gratitude. So, I tell you devotion and gratitude is the center philosophy of Madurai Aadheenam.
I was studying, line by line, word by word all available writings of Thiru Jnanasambhandar, a reviver of Madurai Aadheenam. I could not find a single word, mentioning about the Advaita philosophy / Vedanta philosophy or the Siddhanta, Saiva Siddhanta philosophy. The only word I found in Jnanasambhandar’s writings about the philosophy he wants to spread, he wants to stand for, he wants to represent, the word I found is “Veda Neri”, “Vedic tradition”; “Ulagam ellam veda neri thazha thonga”. That is the only statement I could find from Thiru Jnanasambhandar’s original writings. That is the reason I am telling you Madurai Aadheenam belongs to Vedic tradition, which is the source mother of all traditions; Saivism, Vedanta, Saiva Siddhanta, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism and modern day Hinduism. All the traditions belong to Vedic tradition which is the philosophy of Madurai Aadheenam.
Madurai Aadheenam has its unique place in preserving, protecting, and promoting Vedic tradition. I wanted the whole world to know , I have accepted Madurai Aadheenam to revive Vedic tradition. Understand, there was no contradiction between Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam and Madurai Aadheenam’s philosophy. Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam and Madurai Aadheenam’s philosophy was not contradicting each other; they were complementing each other.
You may wonder, why then Thiru Jnanasambhandar killed thousands of Jain Munis. Please understand, he neither killed nor ordered the king to kill them; they themselves felt the deep guilt and shyness and felt their ego; they lost their ego, they lost their face, they didn’t want to live anymore and they committed suicide. But, whoever wanted to live, all of them were blessed and initiated by Thiru Jnanasambhandar and accepted into the fold of Thiru Jnanasambhandar. So, please understand, those few Jain munis have become very egoistic and arrogant, thinking only they know, without having experience, just with the words they started thinking that they know everything, and even at that time, Jnanasambhandar was one young chap and all these guys were established ,old and many.
Cotton bags maybe millions or billions , but one matchstick is enough. One being with conscious experience is enough. Thiru Jnanasambhandar is such a being, just with his conscious fire, he burnt all the unconscious fellows, destroyed all the negativities, and with his strength he established the Vedic tradition again, revived the Vedic tradition again. As per the customs of those days, he went around place to place and expressed the sacred sentiments, glory of the cosmic father and the cosmic mother, the origin, source, divine, causeless auspiciousness, Shiva , Mahadeva and energized, installed, did prana prathishta in so many of the temples and revived the Vedic tradition.
This is the only organization, Madurai Aadheenam is the only organization referred in any literature before 1000 years. No other organization can trace any literature which mentions about their names. Madurai Aadheenam is mentioned in literatures, which are at least 2000 years. Even when Thiru Jnanasambhandar came to Madurai, he did not found Madurai Aadheenam, he revived Madurai Aadheenam. Please understand, when he came, Madurai Aadheenam existed, it was there. After he came and stayed, the queen of Pandya kingdom, requested Jnanasambhandar to stay in the Vedic mutt, Vedic monastery , Vedic institution, which was here. After Jnanasambhandar stayed here and revived it, it has seen a new chapter, the golden era of Madurai Aadheenam started. But, you need to know Madurai Aadheenam was not founded by Thiru Jnanasambhandar, it was revived by Thiru Jnanasambhandar. From Thiru Jnanasambhandar, the history of Madurai Aadheenam has started. Recorder history of Madurai Aadheenam has started. Till then, there was no recorded history, but Madurai Aadheenam existed.
So, all of you please understand, Madurai Aadheenam represents Vedic tradition. So, whatever we were doing as Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam is completely in sync with the philosophy of Madurai Aadheenam. As some people claim, Saiva Siddhanta is not the philosophy of Madurai Aadheenam, it is one branch of Madurai Aadheenam. Madurai Aadheenam stands for ‘Veda Neri’ means Vedic tradition. Throughout, the Jnanasambhandar’s writings, I analyzed and researched, it is very clear, Jnanasambhandar never ever even uttered the word, Saiva Siddhanta, or Vedanta, he only uttered the word “Veda Neri, Vedic tradition. It means that time only that tradition existed, that was the only philosophy that existed. I wanted to all of you to know Madurai Aadheenam’s philosophy is Vedic tradition. Madurai Aadheenam stands for the philosophy of Vedic tradition.

Sevika I accepted you paada puja, I will talk to you during Dial the Avatar. Let us enter into today’s satsang.
Today I will give an introduction of the philosophy of Madhurai Aadeenam. Please understand as on now society and the so called other religious leaders believe Shaiva Siddhantha is the philosophy of Madhurai Aadeenam. I strongly defer from it. If Jainism evolves after Buddhism, knowingly unknowingly directly indirectly, Jainism is follower of Buddhism. If Sikhism evolves after Jainism knowingly, unknowingly, directly indirectly, Sikhism is the follower of Jain tradition. Understand Vedanta and Shaiva Siddhantha evolved after the tradition of Vedic Tradition - the tradition of Madhurai Aadeenam. So both Shankara mutts and all other mutts are followers of Madhurai Aadeenam. Through out Jnana Sambandar’s writings, no where he mentions the word Shaiva Siddhantha. As some people claim, Shaiva Siddhantha is not the philosophy of Madhurai Aadeenam. It is one branch of Madhurai Aadeenam. Madhurai Aadeenam stands for “Veda Niri” means Vedic Tradition. Throughout the Jnaana Sambandar’s writings, I analysed, researched, it is very clear Jnaana Sambandar never ever even uttered the word Shaiva Siddhantha or Vedanta. He only uttered the word ‘Veda niri’ - “Vedic Tradition.” It means that time that was the only philosophy that existed. I wanted all of you to know the Madhurai Aadeenam ‘s philosophy is Vedic Tradition. Madhurai Aadeenam stands for the philosophy of Vedic Tradition.
