ADIKAILASA on 3/2/20212021-03-02A priest in an orange-red dhoti holds a flaming oil lamp toward a deity murti dressed in a blue cloth with gold brocade border. The murti wears a yellow flower crown and garlands of white jasmine and red roses draped over its shoulders. Behind it, gold-coloured ritual vessels, a small stone bull figure, and gilded shrines fill the temple interior.2021-03-02A night-time temple ritual before a golden arched shrine framing a deity murti adorned with yellow and red garlands, a crown and ornate silver jewellery. A priest in a rust-orange dhoti and matching turban stands with his back to the camera, raising a lit lamp toward the murti's face. Before the murti sits a golden platform holding a small fire and offerings, with smoke rising. Silver oil lamps flank the platform, and a green and red canopy hangs above. Blue cloth drapes the base of the murti. The priest is not identifiable as a specific person from this view.2015-11-18November 18 20152015-11-18A priest in an orange-red dhoti and shawl with gold border and a red turban stands at left, hands extended over a brass bowl near a flame-filled fire pit on a yellow tiled platform. Behind him, a deity murti in a golden arched shrine is heavily adorned with yellow, white and red garlands and jewelled ornaments, flanked by two smaller figures, all draped in blue cloth. Brass oil lamps and a silver vessel sit in the foreground. The scene suggests a homa or puja ritual; the priest's appearance does not establish a person identity.2015-11-18June 20 20212021-06-20A priest in a saffron-orange dhoti and shawl with a red headcloth stands at right beside a fire pit, holding a lamp in one hand and a bell in the other. Rudraksha malas hang across his chest. Behind him stands an ornate golden shrine, and at left a deity murti is draped with garlands of marigolds and red and white flowers, with a gold kalasha and a golden lion figure below. Brass pots decorated with flowers sit in front of the murti, and a fire burns in the foreground during a homa or puja. The priest's appearance does not clearly match a distinctive identity, so he is described by role only.2021-06-20 +1 copiesJuly 05 20202020-07-05A photograph of a homa ritual at dusk-lit temple setting with a large fire burning in the lower left. A man on the left wears orange-red ochre cloth wrapped around his body and a rudraksha mala, and his arm reaches toward the flames and offerings. In the centre, a golden deity murti is draped in yellow and white flower garlands with red blossoms, seated before a golden yellow silk backdrop. Brass oil lamps and a decorated altar with yellow marigold garlands surround the scene. Only the one physical person is visible.2017-08-25A night-time homa at an outdoor temple-style setting under a corrugated roof. In the centre, a bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti with a green-and-maroon border stands with his back to the camera, hands raised toward a blazing fire pit with offerings. Behind him, a golden gilded throne holds a seated person in a maroon garment with a garland, and a second seated attendant in orange sits nearby. To the left, a deity murti is decorated with yellow and red flower garlands on an ornate stand, with a brass oil lamp beside it. Rose petals and marigold petals scatter the ground, brass vessels and a plate of fruit rest on a low table, and a multicolour umbrella shades the throne on the right.2016-02-16 +1 copiesMAy 27 20212021-05-27November 18 20152015-11-18
