September 30 20132013-09-30May 28 20132013-05-28Night-time homa at an open-air ashram site. A rectangular white and yellow stepped fire pit with a lit fire of logs and smoke rises from it. Five young people sit around it with palms pressed in anjali, faces lowered in prayer. Most wear saffron-orange robes with rudraksha malas, and their shaved heads and white and ochre forehead and body markings are visible. One young person on the right wears white dhoti-style clothing, a white headwrap and a rudraksha mala. A brass bowl sits on the fire pit edge beside a sprig of leaves, and a few seated onlookers and a cameraman with a tripod stand in the background, with a yellow flower and marigold petals near the fire pit.2013-10-15December 20 20112011-12-20May 28 20132013-05-28November 04 20132013-11-04May 28 20132013-05-28Two young men in saffron-orange robes sit cross-legged on a striped green-and-red mat before a yellow brick fire pit (homa kunda) with smoke rising from it. The man on the left, bare-headed with white sacred ash marks on his forehead and arms, holds a bundle of dried grass and looks down. The man on the right wears a rudraksha mala, a saffron wrap, and white tilaka marks, holding a bell and a small oil lamp beside brass bowls of offerings and a plate of flower petals. A microphone stands behind them, a garland of white flowers and an orange cloth lie to the right, and a golden ornate throne is visible in the background. This appears to be a homa or fire ritual.2013-05-28October 01 20172017-10-01December 20 20112011-12-20Two young priests in orange and saffron robes sit on a white floor performing a homa at a fire pit built of yellow-painted bricks. The priest on the left, with a shaved head, wears a rudraksha mala and sits with palms resting on his knees near a microphone stand. The priest in the centre, with a white forehead mark, holds a long metal ladle over the bowl and flames. Brass pots, oil lamps, a kalasha wrapped with white garland, and a silver vessel with a spout sit in front. Behind them is a turquoise wall with pink and yellow temple-style decorations and a gold deity murti at the upper left. A fan stands in the background.2013-05-28November 07 20132013-11-07
