July 10 20132013-07-10A shaved-headed man in saffron-orange robes and a long rudraksha mala sits smiling and holds a small brass bell and a lit oil lamp, with his right hand extended. A white sandalwood band marks his forehead with a red bindi, and white paste covers his upper arms. Behind him, several people in maroon robes with gold borders sit on the floor, some holding small lamps. The man is a priest or sannyasi and his appearance does not clearly match the page's a person claim.2013-07-09A shaved-headed man in orange and maroon robes stands holding a small brass oil lamp with a lit flame in one hand, with a white cloth beneath it, while a metal vessel rests in his other hand. He wears a long rudraksha mala, rudraksha bracelets on his arms, and white ash markings on his forehead, arms and shoulders, with a red bindi. Behind him, rows of seated devotees in orange robes and white forehead markings sit with hands folded, some with rudraksha malas, indoors on a wooden floor. A small framed image and colourful items sit at the lower left. The scene suggests an aarti or puja performed before a seated assembly.2014-11-28Close-up photo of a shaved-headed man with white horizontal tilak lines and a red dot on his forehead, wearing rudraksha mala strands and a rust-brown robe. He holds a lit brass oil lamp in his outstretched right hand, flame clearly burning, and appears to be speaking. A gold bracelet and beaded wrist mala are visible. The blurred background shows a red-and-white floor with a soft-focus object. Appearance-based label: a person is not supported here, since the figure lacks the long swept-back hair, crown or turban and ornate saffron clothing cues; he reads as a priest or devotee holding an oil lamp during a satsang or puja.2013-05-31July 05 20132013-07-05April 14 20132013-04-14Close photo of a shaved-headed man in an orange-brown robe holding a lit brass oil lamp in his outstretched right hand toward the camera while speaking. He wears a red bindi, white horizontal tilak lines across his forehead, and a long rudraksha mala of brown beads with a dark bead strand. A gold bangle and red-beaded bracelet are on his wrist. The blurred background shows red mats and seated people in white.2013-05-31A seated man in saffron-orange robes with a red and maroon sash sits on a red mat and holds a small brass oil lamp (deepam) lit with a flame in his right hand while his eyes are closed. He has a white urdhva-pundra tilak with a red bindi on his forehead, wears rudraksha malas and a pendant, and has a beaded armlet. Behind him, others in white and red clothing hold more lit oil lamps.2013-04-13A photograph of a ritual gathering at night. In the centre, a man with short hair and a red tilak on his forehead wears saffron-orange robes and a rudraksha mala with a pendant. He holds a small oil lamp with a lit flame in one hand and a brass implement in the other. Behind him, several men in white dhotis and white shawls sit on the floor, some holding brass lamps and bowls; pink and blue plates with yellow petals are in the foreground.2010-10-16A photograph of seated saffron-robed sannyasis holding brass oil lamps (deepa) with flames during a ritual. The foreground monk on the left wears an orange shawl, a long dark rudraksha mala and a gold bangle, and holds a lamp with both hands. Beside him, a monk with a shaved head and white vibhuti/tilak on his forehead wears a red-orange garment and a rudraksha mala, holding a lamp in one hand and a second lamp at right. A monk at far right in orange holds a small lit lamp and wears a rudraksha mala. Other seated monks in orange and maroon robes are blurred in the background. The scene suggests an aarti or lamp offering. No one is identified as a person from appearance.2013-06-17June 07 20132013-06-07February 19 20132013-02-19
