A tall copper deepa stambham, a ceremonial lamp pillar, rises from a large bronze oil lamp (vilakku) at the centre of an open-sided roofed outdoor area. The bowl is wrapped in a band of red rose garlands and a yellow flower garland, with a white cloth draped at its rim. Paddy stalks are tied at the base of the pillar, and a carved finial sits on top. A dark metal roof and steel trusses frame the view against an overcast sky, with palm fronds at the top edge. Two people in white and dark clothing stand at the right edge near the lamp, and a seated figure in orange is partly visible at the left.2013-11-17November 17 20132013-11-17A tall copper deepam lamp stand rises from a dark base under an open-sided metal-roofed shelter, with palm fronds at the top of the frame. No people are clearly seen besides the partial hand and a faint figure at the far left.2013-11-17A tall copper deepam lamp pillar rises from a large bronze bowl filled with red rose garlands and yellow marigold garlands, set beneath a corrugated metal roof on steel trusses. The copper column has ribbed bands and a decorative lamp cup at its top, with a white cloth or offering wrapped around its base near a dark stone pedestal. Palm fronds appear at the upper corner, and a few small figures stand at the bottom edge near the flowers. The scene suggests a Karthigai Deepam lamp ritual setting, with the pillar as the central ceremonial object.2013-11-17A tall, polished copper dhwajastambha (flagstaff) rises steeply against a clear blue sky, its segmented shaft ringed with decorative bands and topped by an ornate finial with a small carved crown-like element. No people are visible.2013-11-21A tall, polished copper dhwajasthambha flagstaff rises from a stone base carved with small shrine motifs, topped by a finial with a red cloth fluttering from its upper bracket. A corrugated metal roof with steel trusses shelters the area, and a red-and-cream canopy and a small shrine with a deity are visible at lower left. Green trees fill the background.
