A homa is performed at a brick fire pit in a temple-like hall. Three priests sit on a striped mat around the burning fire: the man on the left wears a red-and-pink turban, a red-orange rudraksha-style mala, and a white dhoti, and he is feeding items from a woven basket; the man in the centre sits in white with a white shawl and a bead necklace; the man on the right wears a white dhoti, an orange-gold cloth and a bead garland, holding a small item over the flames. A fourth person in white dhoti and white kurta stands in a doorway behind them. Flowers, a brass vessel of ghee, and yellow marigold garlands surround the fire.

A night-time homa in progress at a square fire pit lined with yellow and orange marigold garlands. A central priest, bare-chested with a pink turban and many marigold garlands, sits cross-legged before a tall flame and tosses offerings into it. Beside him, a man in an orange shawl and white dhoti speaks into a handheld microphone and holds a basket of wood sticks. Other bare-chested men in white dhotis and garlands sit around the fire, and a man in a green cloth bends forward at the back. Baskets of offerings and small brass vessels rest on the ground.

A night homa ritual at an open-air ashram ground beside a square brick-and-stone fire pit with large flames rising from it. A woman in a white sari with a white head wrap and beaded necklaces leans over the fire, while a man in white dhoti and shawl with gold-coloured necklaces holds a brass vessel and pours offerings into the blaze. Another man in white clothes with a necklace stands at right. Behind them, a row of seated devotees in white and saffron fills the background, a round carved wooden or stone object stands near the fire, and a brass oil lamp and flower garland sit on the platform at right, with a string of leaf festoons overhead.

Night outdoor homa at a brick fire pit filled with burning wood, its flames lit orange against the dark. A bare-chested priest in a white dhoti with an orange-red headcloth raises an offering in his right hand over the fire. Three other men sit behind him on a paved courtyard; the leftmost sings or chants into a microphone stand, and the others wear white and yellow cloths, one with a sacred thread. Around the fire are steel bowls of flowers, fruit, coconuts, vegetables and kumkum-marked offerings, with a purple cloth and a lit lamp on a side table. Pink and red flower petals decorate the fire pit's edge. No visible a person candidate.
