He wears a heavy gold bead necklace, rudraksha-style beads on the upper arm, gold earrings and a red tilak on his forehead, while holding a small brass oil lamp with a lit wick in one hand and a metal vessel in the other. Bright flames rise from a brass bowl in the foreground, consistent with a homa or puja fire, and a partly visible figure in orange sits at the left edge against a dark background. The man appears to be a priest performing the rite rather than a depicted or distinctively identified figure.2014-01-05Close photo of a ritual in progress: a priest in red and orange clothing with an orange-beaded mala across his chest and white markings on his arms holds a brass bell and a flaming camphor or oil lamp, its fire rising above a small brass vessel. Behind the flame is a deity murti decorated with white flower garlands, gold jewellery and a red flower; gold-bordered cloth lies at the base. Only a partial view of a seated person's head appears at the lower right.2014-09-14A photograph of an outdoor homa fire ceremony on a lawn at dusk. A standing priest in a maroon-red turban and draped maroon robe with gold borders wears a long orange-red garland, a gold pendant necklace and rudraksha malas, and holds a flaming oil lamp in one hand and a silver bell in the other. Beside a raised stack of yellow and red bricks forming a fire pit, a younger attendant in orange robes bends forward over items, while another attendant in orange sits on a cloth, and a seated person on the left holds a silver bowl. Silver vessels, a bowl of offerings and ritual objects sit on mats around the fire pit. The building columns and windows are visible behind. a person candidate appearance is not clearly established from the image alone.2014-05-22 +1 copiesNight ritual photograph in which a man in a red-orange turban and a red-brown garment, wearing long rudraksha-style beads and a gold-toned necklace, holds a brass chalice-shaped lamp with a large flame at a table covered in a patterned cloth. Potted plants with leaves and flowers, small brass vessels and a bell-like object sit on the table, with a second bell in his other hand. The setting is dark with blurred background figures and warm lamplight. Based on visible cues the man may be a person, performing an aarti or lamp offering.2013-12-20February 19 20162016-02-19
