Beside it, a man in a saffron-red unstitched robe with a rudraksha-style bead necklace stands with one hand on the pole and the rope, and wears a tilak on his forehead. On the right, a second figure in a dark red shawl stands at the edge of the frame. Carved reliefs decorate the pole's base and stone statues appear in the background, with palm fronds at the right. The scene suggests a flagpole raising ritual, with the flag's hoisting on the pole.2010-10-18 +1 copiesLow-angle photo of an outdoor flagpole ritual.
