September 11 20132013-09-11September 11 20132013-09-11A photograph of a long-haired man in a red garment with a red and white flower garland and rudraksha beads, reaching out with both hands toward an ornate carved wooden or stone chariot-like structure with yellow flower decorations. Beside him a bare-armed man in orange and saffron cloth holds a yellow rope. Palm fronds appear in the background. The scene suggests a ratha or chariot ritual. The long hair, red garment and rudraksha cues are distinctive, so the figure is a person candidate in active ceremonial action.2012-04-23April 06 20132013-04-06January 08 20102010-01-08September 11 20132013-09-11September 09 20132013-09-09March 01 20162016-03-01 +1 copiesOutdoor photograph beneath tall palm trees. A man with long dark hair, a red tilak on his forehead, a rudraksha mala and a draped saffron-orange robe with a gold-bordered edge stands on a raised stone platform, holding a long orange cord that hangs down. A bald man in orange robes sits at the lower right, and another man in orange clothing sits nearby to the right, both connected to the work with the cord. Marigold-like yellow flowers rest on the stone base at the bottom, beside a carved stone foot.2011-10-07A standing man in saffron-orange robes with a white and pink flower garland and a gold ornamental necklace raises one arm and grips two white ropes that run up past him, appearing to pull or hoist something. Behind him, two men in orange clothing assist with the ropes; one seated man in orange, with a shaved head, holds an object near the ropes. Tall coconut palms and green foliage fill the background, and a flower-decorated stone figure with a reddish-brown surface sits at the lower left. The scene suggests a flag-hoisting or dwajarohanam-style ritual outdoors.2009-06-09A photograph of a barefoot person standing beside a large banyan tree, leaning forward with forehead and cheek pressed against its trunk and eyes closed. The person wears a sleeveless rust-orange wrap with broad gold borders, an orange beaded mala necklace, a gold bracelet and a small gold earring, with long dark hair swept back. A small red and white mat lies on the ground at the base of the tree. Sunlit foliage forms a soft background. The posture suggests prayer or quiet reverence. The person's bare-shoulder, long-hair and orange-robe appearance is consistent with the appearance-based Swamiji (probable) cues, while the orange mala and gold-bordered wrap are distinctive; the identity is an appearance-based judgment only.2013-05-09 +1 copiesJuly 05 20122012-07-05
