A photograph inside a rough corrugated-metal shed with a dirt floor and rubble. A young man in an orange lungi and a red-and-white striped shirt sits on a concrete block, rinsing his hands from a blue bucket. Beside him stands a large green clay pot. On the right, an older man in a white shirt and brown lungi sits near a red machine, pouring water from a green container. A white sack lies on the ground and broken concrete slabs are scattered about. No deity, throne or ritual is visible.2013-06-26June 05 20132013-06-05A photograph of a construction site where three men mix and spread wet concrete on the ground. The man on the left, in a white shirt and white dhoti with glasses and a tilak on his forehead, leans forward over the mix. The man in the center wears a white shirt and a green-and-yellow checked lungi and uses a flat metal trowel to scoop grey concrete from a metal tray. The man on the right wears a striped white shirt, a white dhoti and a pink-and-white checked head cloth, and stands bent over the mixture. Sand heaps, scattered bricks and a wooden frame sit around them, and other workers and a woman in an orange sari are visible in the background.2006-12-09Three young men work outdoors on bare red earth beside a pile of rough grey granite blocks. The man on the left, in a white short-sleeved shirt and light grey trousers, crouches barefoot while pressing wet grey material. The man on the right, in a striped shirt and checked lungi-style cloth, shapes a curved wet clay form on a concrete base. A third man in a white shirt crouches behind them. A yellow bucket sits on the ground, with broken red bricks and scattered stones around. No ritual or festival activity is visible, and no recognizable a person figure appears in the scene.2013-06-05Three men kneel together on reddish-brown earth beside white-painted stone walls, digging or pressing soil with their hands. The man in the centre wears a white sleeveless vest and white dhoti and has short greying hair. The man on the left is shaved-headed, wears an orange-red cloth draped over his shoulder, a rudraksha mala with ornate gold pendants, and white ash markings on his forearm and forehead. The man on the right is also shaved-headed, wears orange clothing and a rudraksha mala, and has a white marking on his arm. Marigold petals and a few yellow flowers lie on the ground and on a stone bench, and a purple cloth is visible at the lower left. The scene appears to be an outdoor ritual site or sacred ground preparation.2013-04-24Outdoor temple construction site under bright sky with palm trees. A man with long, swept-back dark hair wears an orange saffron robe, rudraksha mala around his neck, and works a long wooden tool into sand beside a shallow concrete-filled pit, a person (in-person candidate, distinctive long hair, saffron robe and rudraksha cues). To the right, a laborer in an orange head wrap, checked shirt and green lungi works alongside him. In the background, several people in white dhotis and shirts stand near an orange bucket, with more saffron-clad figures further back among scaffolding and tarps.2006-12-09A photograph of two men kneeling and digging into a pile of brown earth on a stone-floored area. On the left, a shaved-headed man in an orange-brown sannyasi cloth wears a long rudraksha mala, bracelets, and white horizontal stripes of vibhuti across his forehead and arms, gently pressing sand with both hands. On the right, an older man with short grey hair in a white shirt and white dhoti holds a long wooden digging stick and scoops soil. Behind them, a golden chair with red and maroon fabric and a cream cloth are visible, and a stone wall edges the scene.2013-04-24A photograph of two men crouched on the bare earth at night, digging into sand with their hands. The man on the left is bare-chested with a shaved head, wearing an orange-and-saffron cloth, a long rudraksha mala across his chest and rudraksha bracelets on his arm, with white markings on his forehead and body. Beside him, a man in a white dhoti and white shirt holds a long iron rod upright in one hand while digging with the other. Behind them are a cushioned seat with gold-painted legs and a pink cloth, and other figures in red and orange garments. The sandy pit is set against a pale stone wall.2013-04-24September 23 20142014-09-23November 05 20142014-11-05October 25 20062006-10-25Outdoor photo of workers at a dirt excavation site unearthing a large pale plaster-covered stone or clay form with three round holes on its face. Two men in the foreground crouch and dig with tools, one wearing a checked shirt and plaid lungi, the other a yellow plaid shirt. Two more men stand behind a horizontal metal pipe, one in a green sleeveless vest and lungi, the other in a blue checked cloth. Brown earth surrounds the scene, and the form appears to be a statue being exhumed or prepared for shipment in a workshop setting.
