Outdoor photo of workers at a dirt excavation site unearthing a large pale plaster-covered stone or clay form with three round holes on its face. Two men in the foreground crouch and dig with tools, one wearing a checked shirt and plaid lungi, the other a yellow plaid shirt. Two more men stand behind a horizontal metal pipe, one in a green sleeveless vest and lungi, the other in a blue checked cloth. Brown earth surrounds the scene, and the form appears to be a statue being exhumed or prepared for shipment in a workshop setting.October 25 20062006-10-25December 19 20062006-12-19November 05 20142014-11-05Two workmen lay a large flat stone slab on a sandy ground in a paved outdoor area. The man on the left wears a maroon collared shirt, dark trousers rolled at the ankles and grey sandals, and presses the slab with both hands. The man on the right wears a peach-orange t-shirt and grey shorts, bent low with his hands on the stone edge, placing a small grey stone. Behind them, a third person in tan trousers and red top stands at the edge of the frame, and a stone wall and stacked stone blocks border the site. Stone paving slabs surround the work area.2016-09-15A photograph of a deep rectangular excavation pit in reddish-brown earth at a construction site. Seven men work in the pit and along its edges: some bend and dig with hand tools and shovels, one swings a pickaxe-like tool, and others in striped, checked and green shirts and dhotis or trousers stand watching. Several wear colourful checked or striped headcloths. Above the pit, the tops of two people in orange saffron robes and one in white are partly visible at the frame's upper edge. The ground around the pit is bare dirt with scattered stone and rubble.2006-10-25A photograph of a large rectangular excavation in reddish-brown earth at a temple construction site, for the foundation of a devalayam. Five labourers work inside the pit: a man in a white shirt and white dhoti swings a pickaxe at the bottom, while others in checked shirts, a green shirt with a headband, and a pink shirt use shovels and metal trays to clear soil. A bare-chested man in a grey shirt and red checked lungi stands at the right edge, and a few white-clad figures are seen in the distance near small buildings. Piled bricks, a blue tarpaulin and loose tools lie on the ground.2006-10-25Outdoor construction work in a deep trench cut through reddish-brown earth. Four workers are visible: a man in a white shirt and checked lungi standing at the back edge, a man in a white shirt and maroon lungi with an orange head cloth standing at the right, a worker in a teal shirt and maroon lungi bending over and mixing or pouring from a blue bucket onto a pile of stones, and a worker in a red-and-green striped wrap bending over the trench floor. Wooden poles and rubble lie in the trench, and a red building with a red curtain and palm trees stand in the background.2014-09-23Outdoor construction work in a paved courtyard beside a red-painted wall and a low stone wall. Three men work on large flat grey stone slabs. A man in a red-and-white striped shirt and khaki trousers stands at back holding a long stick. In front, a man in a maroon shirt and dark trousers bends over the slabs, while a young man in an orange t-shirt and khaki shorts with a green wristband pushes a long stone slab across the ground. Loose soil and gravel lie between the stones, and green foliage appears at the upper right.2016-09-15September 16 20162016-09-16October 25 20062006-10-25A bare-footed man in a grey short-sleeved shirt and red, white and green striped lungi, with a blue and white checked cloth tied around his head, bends over a shallow excavation. He is working among cut grey stone slabs and blocks laid in a trench with earth walls, beside a raised mound of reddish soil. Behind, a metal railing, a banyan tree trunk and a red cloth draped over a structure are visible.2014-10-11
