September 05 20162016-09-05A bare-chested young priest in orange dhoti stands at a yellow-painted fire altar outdoors, pouring or lifting a silver plate over a flame. He has long dreadlock-style hair piled on his head, white and red forehead markings, orange-brown rudraksha malas and a gold-toned ceremonial necklace. Behind him, two or three other robed attendants in saffron and orange stand near ornate orange ceremonial banners on poles, with lush green trees in the background. A silver bowl and a brass vessel sit on the altar. The scene suggests a homa or fire ritual.2016-09-05Night ritual photograph at an outdoor homa or fire-offering site. A young man in an orange turban, orange cloth and multiple rudraksha malas sits on a decorated seat, extending his hand toward a silver bowl pouring liquid over a yellow-brown altar; a small fire burns at the left edge. Behind him a bearded man in white dhoti and shawl with rudraksha mala stands holding a ladle, and several men in orange cloth stand in the smoky background under strings of coloured lights. Flowers, fruit and a kalasha-like offering are arranged in the foreground.2017-10-05 +1 copiesSeptember 05 20162016-09-05October 10 20172017-10-10 +2 copiesAugust 25 20172017-08-25September 21 20162016-09-21October 10 20172017-10-10A homa fire burns in a yellow-tiled fire pit in an outdoor temple courtyard.
