A figure in saffron-orange robes and an orange head wrap stands centre-left, hands raised before a small offering tray with a brass lamp. Beside a large black stone sculpture of a seated figure draped in orange cloth and yellow-and-orange garlands, a man in white dhoti and white shirt presses palms together. Around the banyan, about a dozen people in white, cream and yellow clothing stand with folded hands or are seated; a child in yellow stands among them. In the centre, a man in an orange saffron robe with long swept-back hair and a rudraksha mala stands barefoot holding a brass lamp with a flame, performing a ritual. Around him a crowd of devotees in white clothes stands with palms pressed together in anjali mudra, with some women in yellow, pink and purple saris. On the right, a stone deity murti is decorated with a flower garland in green, red and yellow, and a cobra hood sculpture is visible near the lower right. This appears to be an aarti or puja at a shrine under the tree.2006-07-23
