Outdoor photo beneath a large banyan tree with thick hanging aerial roots. In the centre, a man in an orange saffron robe with long swept-back hair and a rudraksha mala stands barefoot holding a brass lamp with a flame, performing a ritual. Around him a crowd of devotees in white clothes stands with palms pressed together in anjali mudra, with some women in yellow, pink and purple saris. On the right, a stone deity murti is decorated with a flower garland in green, red and yellow, and a cobra hood sculpture is visible near the lower right. This appears to be an aarti or puja at a shrine under the tree.2006-07-232004 - First Sannyas Deeksha At AdiKailaasa2004-07-022004 - sacred collections uncategorisedOutdoor photo of a devotional ceremony beneath a large banyan tree with aerial roots. A young man in orange robes with long dark hair sits cross-legged at centre-left, holding a long bamboo staff, flanked by a man in orange on the left. Dozens of seated devotees in white clothing, many with white garlands, sit in rows on the ground, some with hands pressed together. A standing figure in orange at the back and a man in white with a microphone or instrument appear among them. In the foreground a shaved-headed man in orange sits before brass puja vessels and a small kalasha, and a bare-chested sadhu in orange sits beside a circular stone tank. Multicoloured flower garlands hang from the trees and drape a red-stone structure at the right edge. A chariot-like setting with flowers and a red rock sculpture completes the scene.2006-07-122004 - First Sannyas Deeksha At AdiKailaasa2004-07-02Outdoor photo beneath a large banyan tree with dense aerial roots. A tall figure with long dark hair, wearing an orange-saffron robe and a rudraksha mala, stands with palms pressed together in prayer, a probable Swamiji by appearance: long swept hair, saffron clothing and rudraksha beads. Around them a crowd of devotees in white ritual clothes sit and stand, hands folded, including a woman in a white sari with red border and a woman in lavender. At right, a stone cobra hood sculpture is draped with a garland of multicoloured flowers and yellow marigold strands, with a kalasha-like stone base; a figure in white kneels beside it. Woven mats cover the ground. The banyan trunk and lush foliage fill the background.2006-07-23Outdoor devotional scene under spreading trees beside a dark stone deity murti draped in orange cloth with marigold garlands. A large group of devotees in white clothes stands with palms pressed together in namaskar, including children in white dresses and white dhotis. On the right, a figure in a long saffron-orange robe with long hair stands near a brass lamp and an offering plate, while other men in saffron shawls and white attire stand behind. A small oil lamp burns on the ground in front of a white cloth spread on the earth. Marigold petals are scattered on the stone. The whole group appears to be preparing a welcoming ritual.2007-12-07Outdoor photograph beneath a leafy tree at an ashram courtyard. A long-haired person in a saffron/orange robe stands barefoot with palms pressed together in prayer, beside an empty folding chair with a red seat. To the left, an orange-draped deity murti or statue garlanded with white flowers sits on a stone base, and a large black-and-white painted snake sculpture coils across the foreground. A seated man in white clothes at right holds a small flame lamp and a bell-shaped object, and a silver tray with offerings sits on the ground. Two men in white shirts and white dhoti stand with hands folded at left, and another saffron-clad figure appears at the far right edge.2004-12-31
