Behind him, a second figure in an orange garment and white shirt is partly visible against dark, textured tree bark. The man is performing aarti in a dimly lit outdoor setting. The lamp has a flaming wick; the bell-like brass bases are visible at the handle.2006-12-10January 12 20092009-01-12September 18 20062006-09-18January 15 20172017-01-15Two men stand before a maroon velvet curtain performing a lamp ritual. The man on the left wears a white dhoti-style garment, a gold bead necklace, a gold bangle and white sacred markings on his forehead and arms, and he holds the stem of a silver oil lamp. The man on the right wears an orange turban, an orange saffron-coloured wrap, a long gold bead mala and a gold bangle, and he holds the lamp's bowl with a flame burning in it. He looks down at the flame. The lamp is an oil lamp, and the scene reads as an aarti-style lamp offering on a white floor with a patterned mat at the edge.2010-10-24July 07 20092009-07-07A photograph at night in front of a large dark banyan-like tree trunk with hanging aerial roots. A man with long, swept-back dark hair and a red tilak on his forehead wears an orange-saffron cloth draped over his bare upper body. He holds a brass arati lamp with a tall open flame in his right hand and a small brass bell in his left, performing an arati. To the left, a younger man in an orange shawl over white clothes stands near the tree, and a partly visible man's face appears behind the main figure. The lamp flame is bright orange against the dark background. Swamiji (probable) is identified by the long hair, saffron cloth and bare-chested ritual dress of the central figure, who is performing arati with the lamp and bell.2006-12-10January 12 20092009-01-12
