July 31 20152015-07-31Outdoor ghat-side scene beside green water and stone steps. Red-and-gold cloth-draped structure holds a large red basket heaped with yellow marigold garlands and loose red and white petals. Several people pour petals from woven wicker baskets into the water and onto the offering. A woman in a white sari with a red-bordered blouse stands at the steps; a man in a pink shirt with a red thread on his wrist scatters flowers. Metal handrail rises from the water.2015-07-31A photograph of a devotee pouring petals from a woven white basket over a figure seated at the lower left, mostly out of frame. Red and yellow petals and marigold-like flowers fall in a dense shower onto the figure's head and shoulders, as at a flower offering or puja. A woman on the right, wearing a red-banded bangle on her wrist and a gold head ornament, smiles while holding the basket. Other smiling women with jewellery stand behind her in the dim hall beside a white air conditioning unit.2018-02-13July 31 20152015-07-31July 31 20152015-07-31Close photograph of a round woven bamboo basket heaped with fresh flowers in yellow, pink, red, purple and white, including chrysanthemums and roses. Behind it, two flat silver-coloured ritual platforms sit on a striped multicoloured cloth in purple, red, green and orange. At right, a metal plate holds a bundle wrapped in white cloth topped with cream and purple flowers. No people are visible; the arrangement suggests puja offerings.2016-12-19Close-up photo of a ritual lingam or shivalinga being decorated with flowers in a temple setting. A man in a white dhoti and a red-brown beaded bracelet reaches toward a golden-toned lingam set on a silver-rimmed tray heaped with red roses, yellow roses, white flowers and green leaves. A bare-footed figure stands on a red floor at the left, and a person in a leopard-print and tiger-striped shawl sits at the right edge. The lingam and tray rest on a silver pedestal. No face is visible of the men shown, and no one is clearly identifiable as a person.2019-04-07A photograph of a river ghat with a green water channel and red-and-white stone steps. In the foreground, heaps of marigolds, chrysanthemums and rose petals in yellow, orange, red and white cover a stone platform beside a silver metal railing and a wooden plank. A red-and-gold cloth is draped over an object at left, and a woven basket sits at center. At the top of the steps, two people in red and white clothing stand near a figure in white with a red garment, and a person in a red shawl and white garment is partly visible at the right edge. Plain stone steps line the upper background.2015-07-31A photograph taken under a white tent at an outdoor ceremony. In the foreground, a man in a white kurta lifts a woven bamboo basket high, pouring white flower petals onto a heap of white jasmine-like blossoms. A woman in a green and gold sari with a white garland stands at the centre, beside a pile of loose petals. Behind them, a figure in saffron-orange robes with a long rudraksha mala and a gold necklace stands near a basket of flowers; the saffron robes and mala are visible cues, so this may be a person, appearing in person. To the right, long garlands of yellow, red and purple marigolds hang beside a golden structure. Red and white draped cloth lines the tent, and a large audience sits in rows across the background.2010-01-01December 02 20162016-12-02A smiling man in a rust-red turban and saffron-orange sannyasi robes sits on a flower-covered platform beside a steel railing at a stone-stepped water tank. He wears long red and white flower garlands, rudraksha-style beaded mala necklaces with gold-toned beads, and a bangle on his wrist. Attendants in white and orange robes around him hold woven baskets and scatter petals; marigold and white chrysanthemum petals cover the platform. Another figure sits on the steps in the background. The appearance of this man is consistent with the probable Swamiji cues of turban, saffron-orange attire and rudraksha malas, and the page indicates Swamiji was present at this event, so he is labelled Swamiji (probable) in this in-person photo.2015-07-31July 28 20172017-07-28 +1 copies
