A photograph of a street gathering in front of a tree-lined area with palms. A large horizontal banner on bamboo poles is held up over the crowd; it shows a portrait of a smiling man with a saffron-orange turban and ornate gold beaded necklace, with blue-and-white background and Tamil text. Below the banner, about seven men in white shirts and white dhotis stand watching; the man at left wears a dark beaded mala and another holds a phone to his ear. A white van and cars are parked behind them. The banner portrait shows a printed image, not a physical person; the men in front are the physical people present.
