In the foreground, three shaved-headed priests in orange and maroon robes sit cross-legged, each wearing rudraksha malas and holding small brass oil lamps (deepa) aloft. A row of young boys in orange and saffron robes sit behind them, some with white headbands, and small brass lamps, cups and plates are set on the floor. The setting suggests a puja or aarti performed by sannyasi priests during a ceremony. No individual is confidently identified as a person from appearance, so no identity claim is made.2014-10-06October 27 20142014-10-27October 26 20142014-10-26A photograph of a shaved-headed priest seated cross-legged on a striped mat, bare-chested, wearing a rust-brown dhoti with a gold border, a long rudraksha mala with a pendant, and a dark beaded mala around the upper arms. He holds a small brass bell and raises one hand with an oil lamp flame toward a seated group of devotees in orange and saffron robes, many bare-chested with rudraksha malas. Brass plates, a bowl of offerings and an oil lamp sit before him, with an orange bag on the left. Behind them the room is softly blurred with more seated participants. Several people are in view, and the scene appears to be a puja or ritual gathering.2017-01-22January 13 20132013-01-13March 17 20132013-03-17A large indoor satsang or ritual gathering with rows of seated participants in white and orange clothing. In the foreground, three shaved-headed sannyasi-style men in saffron-orange robes with rudraksha malas hold lit oil lamps (aarti) in their hands, with white and yellow tilak markings on their foreheads and arms. Behind them, young boys and men in orange and white garments with rudraksha necklaces sit on a floor with brass vessels and ritual items. A watermarked archive copyright notice appears on the image. Seated devotees in the back wear white shirts and red shawls.2014-08-29
