A photograph of a fire ritual: a square wooden homa pit with a bright open flame rising from a brass bowl set in its centre, surrounded by small silver bowls of colourful powders, turmeric pieces, flowers and green leaves arranged along its edge. Silver lamps stand behind it on a striped cloth. At left, a person in an orange-saffron robe tends the offerings, and a second robed figure sits in the background. Smoke rises from a fire at upper left and a silver vessel sits in the foreground.
