August 31 20172017-08-31A square homa fire pit lined with greenish-brown stone and dusted with white and red flower petals blazes at its center, with a silver bowl of liquid held over the flames. Around the pit sit small silver bowls of colored offerings, a silver cup, incense sticks and a pink flower, while a dark-red-robed person sits at the lower left and another seated figure is partly visible at the top. Silver oil lamps and a silver platform stand in the background, and a smoking earthen vessel of burning cowdung sits to the left, consistent with the page's account of Aushada purification using cowdung smoke and heat. No identifiable a person figure is clearly visible.2017-08-31A photograph of a fire ritual: a square wooden homa pit with a bright open flame rising from a brass bowl set in its centre, surrounded by small silver bowls of colourful powders, turmeric pieces, flowers and green leaves arranged along its edge. Silver lamps stand behind it on a striped cloth. At left, a person in an orange-saffron robe tends the offerings, and a second robed figure sits in the background. Smoke rises from a fire at upper left and a silver vessel sits in the foreground.2017-08-31A photograph of a homa fire burning in a brick-edged fire pit on a layered stone base, with white ritual lines painted on the stonework. Behind it stand a garlanded kalasha with marigold and red flower garlands and an ornate gold-coloured altar or box. Metal vessels, a brass lamp, a plate of flowers and a bowl of offerings sit on the table beside the fire. At the right edge, a seated priest in an orange-saffron cloth is partly visible, with one hand reaching toward the vessels. Banana leaves lie in the foreground.2012-01-08August 31 20172017-08-31November 18 20152015-11-18September 03 20162016-09-03 +1 copiesAugust 31 20172017-08-31 +1 copiesOctober 01 20112011-10-01A square brick homa kunda with a tall orange flame rising from its centre, set on a stepped base decorated with white painted lines. Behind it stands a gilded ornate structure draped with a yellow and magenta flower garland. Brass and silver vessels, a lidded golden urn, a plate of offerings and a small kalasha sit on the cloth-covered table, and the edge of an orange-clad sleeve is visible at right. No people are clearly visible in the frame.2012-01-08May 29 20182018-05-29A photograph of a homa fire ceremony in a temple hall at night. A fire burns in a large square golden fire pit with patterned tiles, sending up smoke. A man in an orange-red turban, orange-red shawl, rudraksha mala and ceremonial gold necklace kneels on the right holding an open book and reading. Oil lamps stand beside the pit and marigold petals are scattered on a mat. Behind, several people in white clothes sit on mats, some near a drum. The figure matches the presentation of a person through the turban, orange robes and rudraksha beads, but this is an appearance-based label only, and he is described here as a priest leading the fire ritual.2015-11-18
