A square brick fire pit, built from pale whitish bricks with darker weathered tops, sits in the foreground of a dark night scene. Its hollow centre holds dim embers and small pieces of wood. Small red-orange specks dot the brick surfaces. Behind it, partly visible at the edges of the frame, are the blurred shapes of people seated on the ground, and a metal vessel rests near the upper right of the pit. The lighting is warm and low, with most of the background in shadow.

Aerial view of a large dusty open courtyard with rows of small white square homa fire pits, each containing dark ash or fuel and small brass items, laid out across the ground. Many men in white shirts and white dhotis or trousers are kneeling and tending the pits, some carrying buckets or tools. Parked cars and a multi-storey white building with trees line the edge of the ground. A man in a light shirt stands at the right foreground, and a partly visible figure in white stands at the lower right. No single leader is clearly visible and the presiding figure cannot be identified from the image.

Top-down photo of a homa fire pit built from yellow-ochre painted bricks decorated with white kolam-style floral and paisley motifs and yellow flower accents. Dry grass strands are tied around the structure. Inside the square pit are grey ash and charred wooden sticks arranged in a crossed pattern. A brass bowl with reddish-brown liquid and a dark wooden ladle rests at the right side of the pit. No people are visible.

A woman in a white and light-blue patterned sari pours water from a dark metal vessel into a square brick pit on bare reddish earth. Several other square brick structures sit nearby, and people in white clothes and bright saris stand in the background, some with orange-trimmed garments. Water splashes over the bricks in the late sunlight.

A brown, muddy pond bordered by a concrete embankment and dense green vegetation with palm trees beyond. Two wooden platforms float on the water, each carrying draped garments, flowers and a bright pink-and-white figure with a purple garland. At the left edge, a person in orange ochre dhoti and robe stands barefoot on the bank, arm outstretched toward the platforms; another hand holding a mala and a gold-banded wrist appears at the lower right. The scene reads as a visarjan immersion of murtis after a Dasara-period celebration.
