September 11 20102010-09-11Night-time photo of a ritual blessing at an outdoor puja. In the foreground a young boy with a shaved head and a tall golden crown-like ornament stands while a shaven-headed priest in white dhoti and shawl with red-and-maroon borders reaches out to touch the crown; he wears a gold bead necklace and white sacred markings on his arms and forehead. Beside him another young priest in white with a gold bead garland and sandal markings holds a steel vessel, and a third priest in white with a gold necklace stands behind. To the left a girl in a light blue top and a woman in a red outfit look on, with a crowd of onlookers in the dark background. A steel tray in front holds banknotes and offerings on a white-covered table.2010-09-11Photo 11730590A nighttime photograph of a devotional exchange. On the left, a man in a grey-green button-up shirt and blue jeans, with a visitor badge on his shirt pocket and a gold ring on his hand, leans forward holding a small silver dish. In the centre-right, a young priest with a shaved head, white tilaka and ash markings on his forehead and arms, wears a white dhoti with maroon borders and a long gold rudraksha-style mala with a pendant. He raises one hand to hold a gold-colored crown or headpiece over the man's head, while holding a silver tray in his other hand. Another white-clad attendant with a gold mala stands behind them, and devotees are faintly visible in the dark background.2010-09-11November 07 20002000-11-07A photograph of a ritual scene. A man with long dark swept-back hair wears a saffron-orange robe, a rudraksha mala with dark beads and a red-and-orange bindi, and sits-crouched beside a seated elderly bald man in orange robes and beaded necklaces on a red throne. The standing man places his hand on the head of a kneeling devotee in white garments who bows at his feet, where flowers, a brass plate and offerings lie. Behind them a priest with bare chest and sacred ash markings wears a maroon dhoti, and a man in white dhoti and gold chain stands at right. Blue wall, brass plates with offerings and a padapuja-style foot-worship setting.2010-11-22November 14 20112011-11-14 +1 copiesOctober 20 20102010-10-20December 20 20182018-12-20 +1 copiesOctober 20 20102010-10-20Photo 11730708 +2 copiesAugust 10 20112011-08-10
