A man in a dark turban with a red-orange shawl draped over his bare shoulder, a pink and white flower garland, a rudraksha-style necklace and gold bangles touches the forehead of a young man in glasses and a white shirt with his right hand. A sacred mark is visible on the officiant's forehead. Behind them are colourful flower garlands, a red cloth and a decorated altar with a bronze-toned deity murti. A woman in white with gold jewellery and a dark-haired woman in the foreground are partially visible. The scene suggests a Shiva Deeksha-style initiation with an officiant blessing a disciple.2018-04-20 +1 copiesA photograph of a seated figure on an ornate gilded throne with a red velvet cushion and tiger-striped rug, wearing saffron-orange clothing, a purple orchid garland and a rudraksha-style mala. A man in white kurta with an orange shawl kneels on a white patterned rug before him, palms joined, while the seated figure raises a hand toward his head in blessing. Behind them a woman in white with a red-beaded necklace sits, and other people in white and saffron stand in a hall with curtains, speakers and a screen showing the same scene. The seated figure has distinctive saffron and garland cues consistent with the page's a person reference, so the appearance-based label applies; the kneeling man is a devotee. Visible people number about six.2012-12-18March 21 20122012-03-21May 01 20122012-05-01 +1 copiesAugust 11 20172017-08-11
