Outdoor homa at an ashram garden. A bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti with gold borders stands at a square fire pit, pouring from a silver vessel with an elephant-head spout wrapped in white cloth, with a pour stream falling into the flames. Dark hair is coiled high, he wears a rudraksha mala and gold pendant, and there is a silver bowl and a clay pot near the fire. Banana leaves and palms frame the scene. A second attendant in white dhoti stands behind him in the background.2016-09-05September 05 20162016-09-05 +1 copiesJune 15 20092009-06-15Photograph of a man in a red-orange shawl wrapped over bare shoulders, wearing a dark rudraksha mala and a white-and-red forehead mark, standing at a smoking fire pit with a long wooden stick at left. He holds a brass ladle-shaped vessel with a flame and burning offering, looking down toward the pit. Behind him, a person in white kurta with a yellow lanyard and another in white stand near palm trees, a white van at right. The scene suggests a homa or fire ritual outdoors.2009-06-15A photograph of a shaved-headed priest in profile, performing an aarti with a silver oil lamp with a bright flame raised in his right hand, while his left hand is held near it. He wears an orange-red dhoti and shawl with gold borders, a long white jasmine garland with red flowers around his neck, a dark beaded headband, gold bangles and a white forehead mark. The setting is an outdoor garden with green trees and red earth, with a red ritual mound and a black stone platform in the background. No one else is visible; the figure's appearance is a shaved-headed priest in ritual dress rather than a clearly distinctive a person presentation.2012-04-27 +1 copiesNovember 21 20182018-11-21A standing man in an orange-saffron dhoti with a red sash and bare chest pours liquid from a silver kalasha-style vessel over a fire pit on a gold-toned platform. He wears a rudraksha mala with a gold pendant and gold beaded necklace, gold armbands, and white sacred ash markings on his arms and forehead, with his hair tied in a topknot. A silver bowl sits at his left. Behind the fire, a seated woman in a dark garment watches. Floral garlands, a decorated palanquin or throne, and gold-toned deity figures fill the background beneath a tented canopy. The scene appears to be a homa or abhishekam ritual. No appearance-based cues establish the identity of the man, so a person is unsure.2016-12-19August 04 20172017-08-04June 05 20122012-06-05November 03 20182018-11-03A priest in an orange-red dhoti and matching shawl stands at a square homa fire pit under an open corrugated roof, pouring an offering from a brass vessel into the smoking pit with a long-handled ladle. A red-draped structure, potted banana plants and a red building stand behind him. On the right, three seated figures in red and dark garments are partly visible. Brass vessels, a plate of offerings and a small oil lamp sit on the stone edge in the foreground. The scene reflects a homa or yagna ritual.2014-07-13March 02 20112011-03-02
