A bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti with broad gold borders stands at an open homa fire pit lined with white kolam-style patterns. He holds a silver kalasha-style pot with a white cloth wrapped over its neck, pouring or sprinkling liquid over the flames. His hair is coiled up on his head and he wears a rudraksha-style mala and a silver pendant. Silver bowls and a clay pot sit on a cloth beside the fire, with green banana leaves and palms behind. Two people in white are partly visible in the background near a drum.2016-09-05September 05 20162016-09-05Outdoor homa at an ashram garden. A bare-chested priest in an orange dhoti with gold borders stands at a square fire pit, pouring from a silver vessel with an elephant-head spout wrapped in white cloth, with a pour stream falling into the flames. Dark hair is coiled high, he wears a rudraksha mala and gold pendant, and there is a silver bowl and a clay pot near the fire. Banana leaves and palms frame the scene. A second attendant in white dhoti stands behind him in the background.2016-09-05A photograph of an outdoor fire ritual at an open ground with coconut palms behind. A man with hair tied in a knot, a white sacred ash mark on his forehead, and a rudraksha mala draped over his bare upper body stands at a fire pit, wrapped in a flowing red-orange cloth. He holds a long wooden stick topped with a brass vessel with flames, and gazes down at the fire. Several white-clad devotees and a woman in a white patterned dress with a yellow lanyard stand nearby, hands folded, watching. A board with a portrait stands in the background. The page identifies the standing ritual figure as a person based on the rudraksha mala, red-orange garment and fire ritual, though the face is not clearly identifiable.2009-06-15August 25 20172017-08-25February 08 20132013-02-08April 14 20182018-04-14 +1 copiesPhotograph of a man in a red-orange shawl wrapped over bare shoulders, wearing a dark rudraksha mala and a white-and-red forehead mark, standing at a smoking fire pit with a long wooden stick at left. He holds a brass ladle-shaped vessel with a flame and burning offering, looking down toward the pit. Behind him, a person in white kurta with a yellow lanyard and another in white stand near palm trees, a white van at right. The scene suggests a homa or fire ritual outdoors.2009-06-15A man in saffron-orange dhoti and shawl stands barefoot on a white platform, holding a brass lamp with a flame and a brass handbell as he performs aarti before a decorated shrine. Garlands of white jasmine and orange and yellow marigolds drape the shrine. Behind him stands a grey stone sculpture of a deity with an upraised arm and beaded necklace, with coconut palms overhead. Flower petals are scattered on the platform, and a partially visible person kneels at the right edge with hands folded.2009-07-08December 30 20082008-12-30A photograph of a man in a saffron-orange wrap, bare-chested, wearing a long rudraksha mala and a vibhuti/kumkum mark on his forehead, standing at a fire pit and holding a wooden ladle over the smoke with eyes lowered. Behind him a sign with printed text stands among palm trees, and several people in white ritual clothes with yellow lanyards watch, including a girl in a light patterned dress. The man shows cues in dress and adornment (rudraksha, saffron wrap), but his face and features are not used for identification, so he is described only by role as the officiant at the fire.2009-06-15June 13 20132013-06-13
