A central figure seated on a cloth-covered mat holds a lit aarti lamp or tray of flames raised above his head, wearing a white dhoti with a gold-bordered yellow cloth, a rudraksha mala and gold ornaments, with long dark hair. Three young men in saffron-orange robes sit in front with lit oil lamps and brass plates, and a man in white sits beside an offering. Silver and brass pots, bowls and a stone snake or naga figure sit on a woven mat in the foreground. Devotees in white garments are seated behind in rows, several with hands folded in prayer. A microphone stand stands nearby.2005-12-22A large old banyan tree with dense aerial roots and sprawling branches dominates the outdoor scene, its roots exposed around a dug-out earthen pit. In the foreground at lower left, a woman with long dark hair and a red-and-brown patterned skirt holds a lit oil lamp or flame near a small wooden stand bearing offerings. A man in white clothes kneels on the roots near the centre, holding a camera. A metal railing and a low stone platform sit behind. The setting suggests a tree puja at a sacred banyan.2014-06-06A woman in a pale yellow-green sari with a dark rudraksha-style mala around her neck stands barefoot on a dark polished stone platform, facing a large old banyan tree with thick aerial roots and spreading branches. Circular stone platforms encircle the tree trunks on a red earthen ground. Her hands are held together in front of her in a devotional gesture.2011-07-05January 04 20152015-01-04January 04 20152015-01-04A large old banyan tree with thick aerial roots and spreading branches dominates the frame. Garlands of orange, yellow and white marigolds are wrapped around the trunk base, and a red-orange cord is strung across the roots. A man stands at right with his back to the camera, bare-chested, long dark hair, wearing a white dhoti with a gold border and a white shawl over one shoulder, scattering yellow petals or grains toward the tree. A small blue sign reads 'DO NOT SHOW THIS TREE' near the base. The setting is an outdoor compound with trees and a brick wall in the background.2011-01-01June 06 20142014-06-06
