A large old banyan tree with dense aerial roots and sprawling branches dominates the outdoor scene, its roots exposed around a dug-out earthen pit. In the foreground at lower left, a woman with long dark hair and a red-and-brown patterned skirt holds a lit oil lamp or flame near a small wooden stand bearing offerings. A man in white clothes kneels on the roots near the centre, holding a camera. A metal railing and a low stone platform sit behind. The setting suggests a tree puja at a sacred banyan.2014-06-06June 06 20142014-06-06September 11 20162016-09-11 +1 copiesJune 06 20142014-06-06A large, ancient banyan tree with sprawling horizontal limbs and many aerial prop roots dropping to the ground forms the main subject, its dense green canopy spreading across the frame. Beneath it, a circular raised stone platform surrounds the trunk base. At left, a green cloth-draped object and a red-and-white offering stand near a small shrine area. Two people in white clothing stand near the tree on the left, one in white with a red-trimmed garment. Sandy ground and white posts surround the sacred tree enclosure.2013-06-12 +1 copiesBanyan TreeFebruary 05 20142014-02-05 +1 copiesSeptember 07 20092009-09-07July 07 20092009-07-07 +1 copiesFebruary 05 20152015-02-05June 06 20142014-06-06Outdoor photo of a large, spreading banyan tree with dense aerial prop roots and a wide canopy over a dirt path lined with stepping stones.
