A photograph of a homa fire pit at night. A blazing fire rises from a square brick-built fire pit whose sides are decorated with white and blue painted patterns and yellow marigold flowers. Behind it, a brass lamp with a flame, a pile of flower garlands and a banana-leaf offering sit on the ground. Two people are visible at the edge: one in an orange-saffron cloth kneeling beside the offerings, and another standing at right in a cream and orange dhoti.

A brick-lined fire pit (homa kund) burns with bright orange flames in a dark setting. White ceremonial patterns are drawn on the bricks around the rim, and a few scattered rose petals or flowers sit near the edge. At the left edge a partial figure in red-orange cloth is visible, and a metal vessel with a curved handle sits in the foreground. No faces are visible.

A brick fire pit (homa kunda) burns brightly at the centre of the frame, with white rangoli-style kolam lines painted on the bricks and a red flower lying on the edge. A metal vessel with a long handle. Behind the fire, blurred red flower petals and the orange robe of a seated person appear at the edges. No face is clearly visible, so no one is identified.

Night-time homa at a temple-style setting: a fire burns in a square fire pit built from tiered bricks decorated with white kolam-style rangoli and marigold garlands. Three priests sit on striped mats around it; the front priest in a saffron-and-yellow shawl over bare shoulders wears rudraksha-style beads, and another in orange shawl and white dhoti sits nearby. A brass kalasha, flowers, fruit and a banana leaf with offerings lie beside the fire, and a silver plate and brass vessels sit in the foreground. Several people sit in the background, with floor scattered with marigold petals.

A photograph of a homa fire burning inside a square brick fire pit at night. Tall orange flames rise from the pit, with sparks drifting upward. Red petals are scattered on the yellow-brown bricks. A metal bowl and offering plates with flowers sit nearby. Blurred figures in white and orange garments and a seated person in white clothing with a bangled wrist appear in the background, out of focus.

A close photograph of a homa fire pit built from brick with a white and coloured rangoli-style border of rice and powder. Bright orange flames rise from the centre. A hand holding a red-threaded object sprinkles grains into the fire at the right. Behind the pit, a figure in an orange shawl is partially visible at the top left, and yellow flowers sit in the background along with a steel vessel and a small steel cup on the pit's edge.
