The pit surface is decorated with coloured rangoli powder in red, white and blue, and a metal bowl sits beside the flames. In the background a shirtless person sits in soft focus, partly obscured by smoke, with a steel plate of offerings and yellow marigold garlands at the right edge. The setting is dim.2017-09-27A brick-lined fire pit with a bright flame rising from dry sticks inside, the homa fire at the centre of the frame. Behind it, a seated officiant in white clothing with a gold-bordered cloth sits cross-legged, hands raised near the flame. Brass vessels, a small bowl and an open book lie on the right, and a metal stand stands beside the pit. The flame suggests an offering ritual, with the officiant's face not visible.2011-11-29May 12 20132013-05-12April 14 20182018-04-14February 20 20162016-02-20 +1 copiesDecember 10 20072007-12-10A brick-lined homa fire pit burns brightly at the centre of a red-floored hall, ringed with yellow and red flower garlands, scattered petals and bowls of offerings. A brass bowl and a small brass ladle sit near the flames, with a silver vessel and a brass pot in the foreground. The fire is in a fire-pit homa setting, with banana leaves and garlands along the bricks.2018-04-14Close-up photograph of a sacred fire burning in a square brick fire pit during a homa. Tall orange flames rise from the pit, whose brick sides are dusted with white chalk patterns and scattered with dried red flower petals. A partially visible hand holding a stick or ladle reaches in from the upper left, and a blue and red woven cloth lies at the top right.
