Photograph taken at dusk or night outdoors. A person seen from behind, with long dark wavy hair and a bare back, wearing an orange-saffron garment, raises a long-handled torch or lamp toward a large copper bowl-shaped lamp (deepam) on top of a tall white pillar. Palm fronds and a coconut palm frame the scene, with a row of grey stone sculptures of figures on the left and a small red placard at the base.

Outdoor evening photo at dusk beneath tall coconut palms. A figure with long, wavy dark hair, seen from behind, wears a saffron-orange garment with gold borders and holds a long torch whose flame rises toward a large copper bowl-shaped lamp. The copper lamp sits atop a white-draped pillar on a mat-covered base. Behind it, grey stone statues of standing figures are partly visible. A cameraman in white stands at the left edge, and a bed of marigold flowers lies at the lower right. Long hair and saffron robes suggest a sannyasi lighting the ceremonial lamp, a Kartheekai Deepam ritual, though the figure is not clearly identifiable.2010-11-21Night photo of a large copper deepam bowl atop a white-draped pillar, lit by a long-handled torch held up by a person seen from behind, with long dark wavy hair and an orange garment.
