Photo 11716258A photograph of a shaved-headed priest in an orange saffron dhoti and shawl, wearing a beaded necklace, waving a white feather fan or chamara over a decorated deity murti. The murti stands in a gold-and-red shrine canopy, draped in garlands of white, orange, pink and purple flowers, with a gold ornate backdrop and a red-and-gold railing behind. The setting is an outdoor temple area with green foliage and stone steps on the left, consistent with a puja or aarti ritual.2010-11-05January 01 20142014-01-01November 22 20182018-11-22November 01 20112011-11-01A temple ritual before a decorated deity murti dressed in green and pink silks, with a gold crown, and garlanded in red, yellow and white flowers. In the foreground a bare-chested young priest with orange cloth at his waist, a rudraksha-style beaded cord, and white sacred ash lines on his chest and arms waves a white feather fan over the deity. A tent-like cloth ceiling and banana leaves frame the scene.2016-12-19Night photo of a temple-style arch of gilded ornamental metalwork, with a priest in an orange dhoti and orange shirt in the foreground, his back to the camera, raising a lit camphor or aarti flame that throws a bright white burst of smoke or light upward. Before him stand two large deity murtis: a figure on the left in a green and orange turban with a crown, and a figure on the right in a red-orange and gold garment with a jewelled necklace and a marigold garland. Both murtis are adorned with bright marigold garlands in yellow, orange and green. A tall brass oil lamp stands at the right edge, and small string lights glow along the ceiling. This is a ritual aarti performed before deity murtis.2008-10-03A priest in saffron-orange robes, bare-shouldered with a saffron cloth draped over the shoulder and a red headband, stands at a temple altar performing worship. He bends forward, holding a golden ritual object near a large white fan-like whisk, and offers to a dark deity murti dressed with a golden crown, gold ornaments and bands of marigold and multicoloured flower garlands. To the left are brass oil lamps and a kalasha-style vessel; to the right stands a smaller teal-clad figure beside a gold shrine piece and a brass lamp, with a red curtain behind. The scene is a temple puja in an indoor hall with pale walls.2008-05-02March 02 20162016-03-02 +1 copiesMay 06 20172017-05-06December 23 20162016-12-23May 06 20172017-05-06
