A man in saffron-orange robes and a red-orange shawl with a flower garland stands at the pole, reaching up to tie or adjust a white cord and flag. Another robed figure in orange stands at the left of the pole. A third man in orange robes with a red dhoti-style cloth stands to the right, looking upward, and a person on the far right holds a green and red spray bottle. Several white-clad people and onlookers sit in the dark background, with marigold petals scattered on the platform. The setting suggests a flag-hoisting ceremony.2008-01-03Night photo of a tall copper ceremonial pillar wrapped with white cord, with gilded small shrine figures on its base. A man with long dark hair in an orange-saffron robe and pink shawl, wearing a red and orange flower garland, stands with hands together near the pillar. Behind him a second man in orange robes and a red sash holds a brass plate, and a third person in orange clothing stands at the right beside palm fronds. Four people are visible; the scene reads as a ritual near a copper pillar at night.2008-01-03Outdoors among tall palm trees, a bronze-and-copper dhwaja kambam (flagstaff) rises from an orange-painted stone platform, wrapped with white cloth and garlanded with yellow marigold strands. A man in white dhoti with gold borders stands at its base, arms raised and holding a plate, looking upward. Beside him a bald man in an orange-red garment with gold border and beaded necklaces raises one hand. To the left a line of young boys in red-orange robes and dark caps stand with hands folded, and seated monks in orange-red robes sit at the right edge. A faint bird figure appears in the sky at the top left.2013-12-18A temple shrine interior lit by brass oil lamps (deepas) on a stone platform before a gold-painted deity murti draped in green and blue cloth with garlands. In the foreground, a man in a saffron-orange sannyasi robe stands with his back to the camera, facing the shrine. Beside him, a bare-chested priest in a red dhoti wears a garland of red and white flowers and a headband, and holds a plate of offerings while performing puja. A younger attendant in orange cloth stands behind him. A tray of red and white flower petals sits in the bottom foreground beside a brass lamp. Red and white striped pillars frame the scene.2012-04-24April 27 20122012-04-27 +1 copiesNight photograph of a copper ritual pillar wrapped with white cloth and straw, standing on a white platform in front of palm fronds. A seated devotee in orange appears at the lower right, and a dark-haired head is visible in the foreground.
