February 14 20162016-02-14A night photograph of a bare-chested man performing aarti with a brass oil lamp, the flame and smoke rising in the lamp's glow. He wears layered rudraksha malas in reddish-brown beads, a heavy ornate gold pendant and gold chain necklace, a bead bracelet, drop earrings and a forehead tilak, with long dark hair. Floodlights and a wooden pole frame the scene, with a glass lantern at lower left. Swamiji (probable) appearance cues include the layered rudraksha malas, ceremonial gold necklace and long hair, shown performing aarti.2016-12-23December 20 20132013-12-20July 19 20162016-07-19Night photograph of a figure in an orange-red saffron wrap swinging a bright fire torch in an arc, with flames and smoke trailing from the flame. The figure has long dark hair falling behind the shoulders, and a lit earring or bright highlight catches the side of the face. Behind them, dark foliage and a tree trunk are faintly visible. At the right edge, two people in white clothing stand in the background, one with hands held together, and a camera is visible near them. The lower left shows other dim figures in the crowd.2005-12-19December 23 20162016-12-23October 01 20112011-10-01A night photograph of a figure in orange or saffron clothing, shown in silhouette against a dark background, holding a lit flame in cupped hands at the right edge of the frame. The flame rises above the palms with wisps of smoke curling upward. Dark tree branches hang at the left, and a metal vessel with a handle sits low in the shadows. The figure has long, loose hair and is facing left toward the flame, apparently performing an aarti-style offering.2005-12-19A dimly lit night photograph of a priest in an orange-red garment and rudraksha-style beads performing aarti, holding a flaming lamp or camphor plate up before him while flames rise from a fire pit at the lower right. Behind him, pink and black draped cloth, a white curtain and a hanging garland decorate a stage, with a few seated figures barely visible in the dark background. The priest's face is in profile, lit by the flame.2010-02-12A man in a saffron-orange and maroon dhoti-style wrap stands against a dark night background, holding a silver aarti lamp with a large flame in his raised right hand and a brass bell in his left. He wears a long necklace of gold beads with a pendant, bangles on his wrist, and looks upward toward the flame. Smoke rises from the lamp at the top left. This appears to be an evening aarti ritual. The man has short dark hair and no visible crown or long hair, so his identity cannot be confirmed from appearance; he is described by role as a priest performing aarti.2012-10-16May 08 20172017-05-08A night-time photograph of a bare-chested man in a red-orange headcloth and orange-red dhoti lifting a lit aarti lamp with both hands above his head, sparks and flame glowing against a dark background. Several rudraksha and bead malas are on his wrists and a long beaded necklace hangs on his chest. Behind him, indistinct figures and a dark ornate canopy or umbrella with sparkling decoration are visible in shadow.2017-08-25
