April 18 20182018-04-18 +1 copiesMarch 10 20142014-03-10Close-up photograph of a polished silver trident (trishul) standing upright against a blurred riverside backdrop of pale sand, dry trees and water. The trident has three curved prongs with a central spear point and an ornate silver shaft with a collar. In the lower corners, the blurred silhouettes of a few people are partly visible at the frame edge, but no one is in focus. The trident is a Shiva symbol used in Hindu ritual at the Ganga ghat in Haridwar.2014-03-10May 31 20172017-05-31 +1 copiesA man seen from behind, with long dark matted hair falling down his back, bare-shouldered and wearing an orange-and-red shawl over his body, faces away toward a blurred yellow and pink backdrop. In the left foreground stand two tall ornate silver staffs topped with a trident, and a small silver figure is visible at the bottom edge. The scene suggests a ritual or temple setting. Clothing and hair fit the presentation of a sannyasi, but the figure is not clearly identifiable from appearance, so the identity is left uncertain.2018-04-18A photograph taken from behind of a person with long dark hair falling down the back, wearing an orange-red cloth with a gold border over bare shoulders, seated near an ornate silver throne. In the foreground, two tall silver trident staffs with twisted shafts stand beside a small silver figurine at the base. The blurred background shows a yellow and pink backdrop with an intricate design. The person's face is not visible, so their identity cannot be confirmed from appearance; the role is a seated figure before the tridents and throne.2018-04-18April 18 20182018-04-18Close side profile of a smiling man with swept-back dark hair tied at the back, white vertical markings on his forehead, and a necklace of brown rudraksha beads with a red-orange cord. He looks down toward a large polished silver trident with a gold disc at its base and a red stone set in its prongs, held upright beside him. Blurred green foliage sits in the foreground and a pale interior with a wooden panel stands behind.2014-08-26December 21 20152015-12-21April 30 20142014-04-30Close-up photograph of a polished silver trident (trishula) raised against an overcast grey sky, with a blurred dark green treeline behind it. The three curved prongs are bright metal with a beaded edge and a small floral rosette collar near the shaft, and a few dried specks and red-brown marks cling to the tips and inner curves. The shaft is held by a coiled band below the rosette. No people are visible.2010-12-16Photograph from behind of a bare-backed man holding up a gold trident (trishul) in his right hand. His long dark hair is braided and falls down his back, with a rudraksha-style brown mala draped over his shoulder. Blurred seated devotees fill the foreground and background of a large hall with white draped walls and a red pillar. A red digital display sits at left. The trident and a thin gold bangle are the sharpest details.2016-12-12
